Another Godforsaken World.
Plummeting to this world's ground at incredible speeds. The clouds broke as she flew into flames. The world came into view, sky scrapers, cramped buildings, small green parks filled with carefree lives. Where to land, where to land, what will keep destruction to a minimum? Her eyes panicked as they darted to anywhere she could land with the least damage. As they traced every line, every alley, the sun's shimmers flicked into a river.
She shook her head, her scales taking over her pale skin as her Berserk raged on, "No no no no! That Bastard God! If this berserk can’t be released now this city goes down with me... no... why... why!... concentrate. It'll be fine. You just need to land in the river. It'll burn but it's nothing you can't handle... right? Right."
With her thoughts spiralling into tornados she quickly threw her weapon into dust. Spreading her arms, wings and legs out - nothing was going to slow her for long. If she lets the impact out too late the tops of buildings will be missing. A dragon's painful roar shattered the skies with bolts of purples, crimson and blues. Her body raged with soft hums as the same colours coursed her veins. The Empress’ body creaked with overflowing power. Her wings curled in on themselves unnaturally. Her limbs pulling into a ball as an explosion of numbing sound waves continued to decorate the sky, purple into red, red into blue. A sphere of concentrated power surrounded her, gushing the winds in all directions as it faded from sight.
The Ryudemons body tingled as all limbs went limp, she was falling again once more, regaining momentum as her consciousness faded further away. She fell closer and closer; most of her scales began to disappear, her horns and feathers gleamed with gold as it etched the edges with care. Her eyes barely flickering open, a meak attempt was made to protect her face as the water engulfed her struggling body.
A scream like no other was released into the river, water filling her lungs as they exhaled every last bit of air. Her wings began to creak and burn. As the Empress scrambled herself to the surface latching onto an indent in the rivers walls, tears hugging her bloodied face as she attempted to grit her teeth through the sharp coughs cracking her ribs, the searing pain in her wings and lungs. She struggled for air as water continued to flow from her embered lungs. Civilians had began to gather around her area of impact, looking at her with fear and curiosity. Her wings smoked softly as feathers crisped to embers. Her arms felt far weaker as she held on for her life.
She let go.
As the Ryudemons head sunk back under the water, the rushing undercurrents took her away harshly, snapping her body to their rhythm as her arms began to go limp. The continuous hopeless thoughts surrounded her muffled ears, "Why am I fighting for my life? If I just go I'll be placed in a different world anyway, what's the point anymore-"
"No! Grab on again!" An innocent sweet child's voice shouting from the river's edge. A being so innocent that their curiosity clearly got the best of them as they gazed upon the beast in the river. Yet it snapped her thought process as for some reason she grabbed on again. Slipping slowly the Empress sputtered with any breath she could take, "Abyssal tendrils..."
Small purple black rocky tendrils pushed through the rivers bank, tying her wrist to the wall and pulling her close to it, holding her head above the water as she struggled to stay conscious.
It burned. It seared. But she was too weak to do anything. Her breathing was hot as her ribs creaked and snapped further. She hadn't had ample rest for her recovery to kick in. Usually the time between moving world's she would heal in but her time was limited due to her rage filled actions.
The child who called for her leaned over the edge above her, shouting in a sweet caring voice, "Help will be here soon! Please don't let go again lady! I'll stay here with you, I promise. New York City can be scary when you’re alone after all!"
A promise. Such a simple concept. So many were stolen from her long ago. Weakly raising her head, the Empress smiled sweetly towards the child, making sure to mask her pain but accidentally exposing fangs. She sputtered a watery chuckle as they locked eyes but hers seemed to close softly, drifting to sleep as she awaited the rescue she was promised.
