Cassidy could tell mistakes had been made. That he was the bad guy once again. He always thought that maybe that thing, that ooze, had taken something important and primal from him. Perhaps his self-control, his goodness of heart, anything.

Then he was just how egotistical that was. He was not good of heart. No paragon. No example to be followed. In fact, there was little to indicate he was a good person at all. In the end, he had been selfish, so very much so. No, more accurately, he just did not care. If Aster got a little hurt, moving to somewhere else away from him and to go to somewhere better, safer, and more stable? Well, then that was a small sacrifice that needed to be made. If him being selfish, being the same old Cassidy who had demonstrated little regard for his friends, meant for her a better life? Why not? Besides, she said it herself. She was a warrior, a godkiller. She killed before. What could he do to stop her or Kore from killing again? In the end, his code, his morality, meant nothing in terms of the power these two presented.

And how they carried themselves. So when Kore tried to not look at him at disappointment or had her eyes dash to him in concern to Aster, what did she expect him to do? Be the happy-go-lucky Spider-Bite? Spider-Bite was no hero. He was not needed nor had he ever been needed. And neither was Cassidy DeWitt.

What do you both want with me? I don't want anything to do with this life anymore.

There. He was being honest. His final decision.

So he listened before speaking.

"Not many people, which means she gets to do basically whatever with little oversight. Perfect stomping grounds for the next magical girl."

An offhanded comment as he made his way to the workbench, grabbing and fiddling with one of the web-shooter devices.

"Also, you really think going on assignments with Kore is a good idea? With how you are?"

With how she had proven to be mentally volatile in terms of her memories making into the real world? Something that had happened enough times to make Cassidy concerned, to the say the least. Still, was it his problem?

"When I mentioned moving, I meant so you could get your life in order. Protecting people or things through violence isn't going to help you. Nor it is something you should take lightly and just jump back on the saddle."

Millennium University. Psychology class. Topic: Immortals. In essence, it described the phenomena of immortals engaging a cycle of lifestyle until they either broke it or become trapped long enough that their own mental health broke down. Few were able to make this cycle work, of engaging in the same behaviors or activities over and over. It indicated a deeper strength. Aster did not seem like the latter, at least with not how she was now. And he saw no point in her protecting the world or anything for that matter. The world always was protected and would be protected. It did not need another body to throw at any problem that might crop up.

Violence tore her life apart once. She wanted to see more of it? Cassidy had been right. He had been out of his league. And her? Aster? If this was her choice, then he could do nothing for her. She was naïve enough to think pursuing this path would lead to a different outcome.
