The manhole cover slid away easy enough with my strength. Sunlight filtered through, although it would be a few hours before the dawn and eventually the dark would arrive.
Which meant, that if we were not going to make a break for it now, it may be better to wait until night.
Then again, there were those creatures and for all I knew, they could have been made from actual shadow. Nighttime might put the three of us at a disadvantage.
Focus, the alien almost chided. The both of us should get our bearings and checkup on our passengers. The alien wriggled slightly.
The idea of saving the opponent still sat with it as a bad idea, considering how powerful this individual was and the fact that this supervillain had come out of nowhere.
Two of my extra-limbs that sprouted from my back peeked through and fired webbing at the various vehicles. That should keep them from moving until all three of us were out of here and out of the way.
First, I lifted Memento Mori, the girl with the almost spectral or perhaps magical abilities, above me and up onto the ground above. Then followed the supervillain, wrapped up in a perfect bundle with webbing to address his wound to stop further blood loss.
Finally, I pried myself through.
I closed the manhole cover before my lenses gazed at the pair, mostly focused on the cloaked girl in front of me rather than the caped villain.
"We need to leave Manhattan. Best to try the bridges and find a hospital. How bad are you?"
I might have to examine everyone's wounds right now, especially if our sudden departure worsened any previous wounds from the battle. Neither was looking all too well. And I had gotten off with nothing more than a few bruises that might disappear soon enough.
I nudged the supervillain as my extra arms picked up the bundled old man gently.
"You awake? Please don't be dead. I can't afford the therapy."
