A quiet industrial town set up next to a large chemical plant, Still Creek is anything but a tourist spot. In fact, there's barely anything there for the residents; a small movie theatre, a warehouse gym, and a run-down old video arcade are just about the only sources of entertainment, if you don't count the library which has been closed since the mid-00s. Locals have described Still Creek as "a town so dull, they forgot to put it on the map"- a statement which, for the first few decades of the town's existence, was entirely true. It took until 2004 for it to be put on any commercially available maps.
[break][break]
The town is a relatively new one, and, though it has no official founding date, it is recent enough that many older residents remember moving in close to the year it was founded, placing the date at sometime between late 1983 to mid 1984. It is likely that Still Creek was set up as a residential area for workers employed at the then newly-built chemical plant, but much of the documentation about the town's founding, population, and governing bodies were lost once the plant switched companies to GREENCHEM Industries in 1986. Any attempts to recover these documents have so far been unsuccessful.
[break][break]
Technology and infrastructure in Still Creek is somewhat lacking compared to the rest of the country. Broadband and cellular service, whilst present, are incredibly unreliable, and most households still use landline and dial-up internet services to combat this. The movies shown in the theatre are at least a decade old, as are the games in the video arcade, and the library, when it was open, also seemed to be lacking any books that were at all recent to the time period. Perhaps this is due to Still Creek's remote location- at the end of a dirt road, surrounded by dense forest, miles away from civilisation.
[break][break]
On the surface, despite its eccentricities, there is nothing that would immediately cause alarm about Still Creek. It just seems like an average run-down industrial town in an unfortunate location, with absolutely nothing unremarkable about it. However, there is something strange about Still Creek, something only the locals know about: the tunnels.
[break][break]
There are four entrances to the tunnel system scattered across the town in various places, but none of them are able to be connected. The tunnels accessible through these entrances are quite short, each ending with a large vault door that requires a nine-digit combination to open. All attempts to open any of the vault doors appear to have been fruitless thus far, and the tunnel walls are reinforced to the point where it would be impossible to break through them. The tunnels appear to be man-made, with concrete walls and steel reinforcements, and do not seem to follow any natural cave structures.
[break][break]
Aside from the tunnels, there are a few smaller anomalies that make Still Creek more than a little bizarre. Residents report hearing echoes where there shouldn't be, there is a siren that goes off one night every six months, the water supply is isolated and doesn't seem to be managed by any registered company, and everything always seems like you're being watched somehow...

My name is Lisa Graham and I've lived in Still Creek for pretty much my whole life, as have most people here who are my age. It's not really the kind of place you move out of yknow. Anyway I'm writing this because I know there's no way anyone is going to just come over and help me with this, since people pretty much never come to Still Creek for anything other than gas on a road trip. Or if they get lost. I need help and I've finally got the balls to ask for it.
[break][break]
It sounds really stupid, but when I was a kid (around the mid 90s) I was walking down by the tunnels to go pick up something I left down there and I saw a ghost. I'm absolutely positive that's what it was, no doubt in my mind. I think someone must've died in those tunnels and came back to haunt me, but nobody said they saw anything at the time. They didn't believe me because I was a dumb kid or something. I'm not dumb! And I'm far from being a kid anymore so hopefully people take me seriously this time.
[break][break]
Look, even if you think I'm crazy, it would be worth looking into the tunnels anyway. Those vault doors have been locked for too long, there's gotta be something behind them. So please come over and put my mind at rest and also put your curiosity at ease. I will be at the gas station (that was the tunnel entrance I saw the ghost at).
[break][break]
Please help :(

anyway this is my spooky small town with weird goings on. id advise against starting events and shit in this location for the time being since at the start its probably jsut gonna be focused on exploring and uncovering the mystery of what happened in the tunnel. lmk if you have questions love you.
