The Aspects Domain [Manhattan]

For a city that never slept; the mornings were often quiet. It was something Daniel had grown to enjoy during the first few weeks of his move. He sat in the direct center of his semi-circle couch, letting the gray fabric gently support his frame, and sipped on a cup of freshly brewed coffee. His 80" tv played the newest episode of Good Mythical Morning which, along with the silence of New York, was something he had discovered and become very fond of. Something about the overall pointlessness of each episode helped keep him grounded in the realm of mortality, it helped to keep him humble.

The knock at his door wasn't a surprise, his shadows had clocked the mans presence the moment he entered within the 30 mile radius that covered almost all of Manhattan. It was hard not to notice such a strong aura approaching the heart of his realm. Part of him knew that it wouldn't be long before the local hero & magic communities started to investigate the beacon of power that had suddenly taken shape in the center of one of the countries largest cities but, this one was different. He could feel the slightest hints of hostility beyond the wooden barrier; the type of hostility a predator lets out when approaching prey. It was faint but, there all the same.

"Lancelot, stay on guard." he whispered as he approached the door. With a single thought he masked the presence of his countless soldiers stored within his own shadow. Suddenly the apartment, that would have seemed to be filled with thousands of beings to a mages senses, was home to only one. Masking his presence was something that took alot of his own stamina to do but, in the event of a fight the element of surprise as well as placing distrust in someone's senses often yielded some type of advantage.

Daniel relaxed as he heard the mans explanation and gestured for him to come inside the penthouse. He moved behind the bar and held up a tray of K-Cups.

"Coffee?"

Present was stacks of almost every flavor money could buy so, if there was interest in something it could be made. Moments later an average shadow soldier approached and handed Daniel the cup he had already been working on and then melted back into the floor. The aspect of control took a sip.

"Gotta say, I'm surprised it took your group this long to look into everything. I presume you're here for some kind of warning, recruitment maybe? Hit me."

A shadow soldier took care of making the coffee while the two of them spoke. He listened to the man intently from a nearby chair, his casual expression never wavering.

"I can assure you that I am more than capable of protecting these people from whatever comes their way." He stopped masking his powers. If the man could see the Shadow Nexus than he would no doubt be able to feel the thousands of souls that were here.

"Someone is going to come knocking one way or another. By staying here and keeping a portion of my forces active within Manhattan everyone is able to live much safer lives."

The robed shadow mage gave the man his coffee before melting back into the darkness.

"Maybe a demonstration of exactly what my men are capable of could dispel your organizations fears? There is a meta-human gym nearby we could pay it a visit; I have nothing else on my schedule for today."

He could feel the second soul in the man perk up at the thought of a fight before it showed itself. He could see the purple wisps taking shape around the hand before they fizzled away. It was also a bold claim to think that he would lose a sparing match so severely that the two of them would become enemies. Whatever that entity was it must've been stronger than it appeared at this moment. Perhaps it drew its power from fighting and Gerard didn't trust himself to maintain control.

"Fine by me."

He made his way back behind the bar and placed his empty coffee cup into a small sink. He was tempted to just start a fight here and see exactly what it was that made the wielder of that power so scared of it but, that would lead to more trouble than it would be worth.

"If you're in the area you can feel free to stop by. Im interested in seeing that power of yours in action. Maybe once you get a better grasp on how to wield it you can put it to the test."
