Jacob felt the heartbeat of the terrified driver. Even he could tell it was not the driver's fault whatever happened. He hadn't had a drink and was in full control...until something or someone else took control. Problem was, it was hard to tell who was to blame in a city and a place where metahumans walked unrestricted. And his sense of smell in this case would be entirely useless because whatever phenomenal power used had nothing he could track. Maybe if there were telltale signs but he had none for the moment.
Besides, there was a rogue, still running electric car to put out of its misery. As Elia went to work on safely extracting the driver, Jacob would wait until she was done, before putting the car down, wheels up. He knew the woman's gaze was on him but, before he could address her concerns, because she was clearly a foreigner, he needed to turn the car off.
When he spoke, his voice had been the voice of an animal, deep, harsh and not human. It was enough to startle some and caused others to move farther back. "Listen lady, if I was devil, I'd have let the car run you over or at least, would let it try." Jacob saw how she moved. A run away car wasn't going to do her in.
Gaaah. Won't be long now, I guess. He was aware of the surroundings, maybe she was too. "But maybe we ought to go somewhere else before the situation here dwindles anymore?" He moved towards the back of the tipped over vehicle. A calculated strike through one of the key components finally turned the vehicle off.
He was sure security could handle the rest. There were security cameras all around. Any one of them could tell them what happened. Maybe they already knew. But since none of them were in any sort of trouble yet, perhaps it was a good idea to bail?
She had her sword sheathed, though, pointed to the ground but still. "And maybe put that away?" Jacob didn't really want to turn back now because his clothes were totally ruined. He pointed to an alley close by. "Let's move there for the moment."
And behind them came the sound of sirens- law enforcement and paramedics.

"Are y'all some kind of devil?"
