Name: Anya Karinov
Aliases: Luna Hawk, Aly (Disney Channel Show: Aly's World)
Species/Origin: Eidolon (As identified by certain internet groups interested in tracking Luna Hawk's appearances through time. Luna Hawk herself considers herself meta human and doesn't care about any other identifiers)
Present Age: 18
Origins:
"The first confirmed appearance of the Eidolon identified today as Luna Hawk comes to us from cave paintings dating back to, possibly, the middle Paleolithic period with the emergence of Neanderthals, though as the cave painting was found in modern day Sudan it's unlikely the tribe that painted it was themselves Neanderthal. It likely doesn't matter, the Eidolon's appearance has changed from culture to culture and time period to time period, aside from the core physicality identified by Atraveous during the time of Hadrian when she was known as Victoria." -From "Tracking the Idea" by Robert Crawford, 1973.
"Since the appearance of the Eidolon in cave paintings her image has re-appeared with each new incarnation, matching the dominant popular artform of the time. These seem to form some sort of chronicle, detailing the experiences of a particular incarnation from its middle teen years until its death. There are collections of these in various hands and unfortunately many are hard to get hold of. Supposedly a distant member of the Romanoff family once held a collection of renaissance era artwork depicting her life in that time. Unfortunately it was probably lost to the Russian Revolution or it has been hidden away. I continue to make it my work to get hold of as many images as I can and bind them into eras. Yours, Sun Chi." -From the letters of Sun Chi, circa 1925
"Hey, I'm new here but I just found a bunch of super old comics from my Dad's stuff after he died. RIP. I was looking for an Action Comics #1 he claimed to have had but I don't think he has it anymore. Too bad #setforlife. Anyway, most of what I found doesn't look very valuable, but there are a bunch of these books about some character named Luna Hawk and they look really old, like 1930s old. Anyway, there's not a publisher on the cover which is pretty weird. I'll upload some pics, let me know if they're worth anything?" -From the Discord postings of RefriedBean, July 8th 2021.
"We should talk in private." -Response on Discord from LeroyJenkins135, July 8th 2021.
"Through significant effort of study I have come to the conclusion that in fact the Eidolon was not missing during the entire Roman Era, but in reality made several appearances during the long reign of that august empire. I nearly missed it, as have many others. We were in all this time and due diligence in fact missing the art, it was right in front of us. We looked for paintings and engravings, as has been typical of her recorded appearances in the past, but the Romans elevated one great art above the rest--statuary. Victoria WAS the Eidolon." -From "Eidolon in Marble" by Alfred Mandarou 1875.
"Dearest Thomas, I write to you in hopes all finds you well. I have urgent news the details of which cannot be entrusted to the vagaries of parchment. Suffice to say I have documents of which you have expressed great interest. I await your response with trembling breath as I have not made a greater discovery in all my life. They will remember us for this!" -From the letters of Catherine Howard to Thomas Culpeper, Circa 1540.
"Do you remember ordering this one? She looks like that girl on the Disney Channel my kid won't stop watching and is that--Null?" -Text message from Richard Yalan, Comic Store Owner St.Louis, 2021.
Background:
Luna Hawk's appearance has varied in accordance with the standards of the day. Her latest incarnation, having just reached the age of eighteen, is athletic and vibrant. Despite the weight of memory she hasn't been ground down by the cynicism that assaults many and holds an optimistic outlook. She wears clothing composed of Empyrite Weave but also maintains a suit of modern armor for more advanced or powerful foes. Luna Hawk's strength far exceeds that of a normal human, able to shatter bone with relative ease. She is also highly durable and has regenerative healing though it isn't fast enough to take hold during combat. Finally Luna Hawk has both super vision and super hearing as well as supersonic flight.
Luna Hawk's modern incarnation is a teenage television star who just recently turned 18. She has a successful kids show on the Disney Channel (and Disney+) but is looking to transition forward into more series television or film appearances. Like many Disney stars, she faces an uphill battle to be taken seriously in the industry. Alexandria Karinov has moved to New York City with the blessings of her parents and wants to establish herself on both the hero scene and the greater entertainment scene as something other than a child star, especially when so many have taken dark paths after leaving their shows. There's been talk of her playing the role of a superhero, given her wings and appearance, but so far it's just talk.
Equipment:
Luna Hawk owns some traditional equipment such as her ancient Empyrite spear which has been modified into a collapsible weapon for ease of storage and transportation. She also owns several Roman Pilums, also made of Empyrite and frequently used as thrown mid range weapons. Like her spear these can be charged by her personal electric field to hold up to fifty thousand volts of electrical energy.
Folding Bow- Based on the latest "tactical survival folding bows" available on the market, Anya makes this bow her always carry weapon, along with her spear. The collapsible bow is easily concealed, made of light weight materials and unfolds at the press of a button or flick of a wrist. Most of these bows go up to fifty five pounds of draw weight but the meta materials involved give this bow a draw weight of three hundred pounds, well exceeding the record set by ordinary humans in 2004. The bow fires a variety of arrows ranging from blunt Empyrite tips to armor penetrating arrow heads. She rarely caries many arrows on her while in her civilian clothing but when kitted out for battle she can carry plenty.
Throwing knives- Another easily concealed weapon, she often slips one or two into a concealed sheath at her waist when out as Anya rather than Luna Hawk.
Empyrite Weave Clothing- Luna Hawk long ago perfected the art of reducing Empyrite to threads and weaving it into otherwise normal clothing. This weave makes for tough, durable clothes that can take a hit and work as light armor in a pinch. All of her clothing is made with this weave.
Empyrite Armor Weave- Made using similar techniques as her Empyrite Weave Clothing Luna Hawk's Empyrite Armor Weave is her going into battle gear. There are no ordinary threads of fiber in this armor, but instead her shirt and pants are composed entirely of threaded empyrite, making it light weight, flexible, and easy to fly in, while doing nothing to reduce its protective qualities. Empyrite Armor Weave can easily absorb up to fifty caliber rounds and is highly resistant to thrusting and slashing weapons. It does absorb some kinetic force but is not designed with kinetic impacts in mind.
Helmet- Luna Hawk's Empyrite helmet is cool, fashionable, and protects her head and eyes, revealing only her mouth and jaw. The lenses adapt to protect against sudden flashes of light and though white on the outside, are entirely see through from the inside.
Biology:
Physical Perfection- Luna Hawk is physically perfect, supernaturally so. She has no blemishes, no scarring, none of the tiny markers of Humanity so common to everyone in the Human species. Her form is an idealized version, the vision of a hero as seen on the pages of comics or in the highly edited scenes of movies. To many her beauty is breathtaking, to others it's too perfect, like a photoshopped version of a person rather than the real thing.
Healing Factor- Luna Hawk has a healing factor that will eventually heal all but the most fatal wounds. It is not "battlefield fast" however and takes time.
Superior Vision and Hearing- Luna Hawk's vision and hearing are comparable to predatory birds like falcons and eagles. She can see fine details from extreme distances or hear all but the quietest sounds and does not suffer from poor vision up close. Her hearing can be easily damaged however because of its sensitivity. She has built in audio dampeners in her helmet but no such protection while outside of it.
Superhuman Strength- Though not muscle bound, Luna Hawk has superior strength capable of breaking human bone or throwing a car (with effort).
Enhanced Durability- Luna Hawk can take far more potent hits than an average human.
Flight- Luna Hawk has wings and can fly at super sonic speeds with the reaction time to match.
