Hello! I've had this idea for a 1x1 RP for about a week or two and I wanted to pitch it and see if anyone was interested!I plan on playing as the male protagonist of this RP.
This particular RP is loosely inspired by the show and light novel series "Eighty-Six", though I took a lot of creative liberty constructing the plot this RP would follow.
As of right now I'm still listing out the specifics of the prologue for the RP, but as of right now I can pitch the main synopsis for the greater arc of the story.
(Note: No prior knowledge of the series "Eighty-Six" is needed to participate in this RP!)
The History so far:
The greater story takes place during a proxy war over the nation Bevekia, a substantially larger country compared to it's neighbors. Rich in much national resources, the nation has been a prime candidate for trade agreements for it's untapped resources, to the benefit of both economies. While the nations around Bevekia have waged wars amongst themselves, the neutral country has long been a bastion for those seeking refuge despite the countless conflicts surrounding them. Bevekia has remained a prosperous, multi-cultural nation for centuries, housing all sorts of people near and far.
People from the Republic of Vellicia are often criticised for their unique 'Vellician look', that came from an unexplained phenomenon which happened two hundred years ago. The people of Vellicia had been normal in features like the rest of its neighbors, until a few generations later they find that newborns had begun developing albinism.
Because of this, the Vellicians believed themselves to be blessed to the dismay of their neighbors. While it developed patriotism and feelings of superiority, it bred resentment from the others. Anywhere else, they would have been oppressed, but in Bevekia they lived in harmony with others, often protected by neighbors of different countries. The fierce national rivalries that plagued the borders of each country had seemingly fizzled when it came to people in Bevekia, where often people would set aside differences in pursuit of peace.
Unfortunately, over time, a number of factors had steadily rocked the country to the edge of a civil war. The extremely lenient policies Bevekia has for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers made it easy for agents from different nations to establish bases of operations which would further their own country's agenda. Propaganda from differing sides further push former residents of said country to rally, drawing division among citizens. The Bevekian Government lays in turmoil, riddled with agents and infiltrators lurk in all levels of the organization, drawing much toxic politics to confuse the masses. Further deeper political issues within other nations have found its own way into the politics of Bevekia, drawing subdivisions among groups, further dividing the populace.
The military of Bevekia has seen and needed little development with its non-aggression and Defensive doctrine with surrounding nations, foregoing developing its armed forces in favor of civilian economy. This would prove ill-fated for the approaching conflict. The lack of manpower served as an easy task for other countries to sneak into the country and deliver weapons, officers, and mercenaries to set up secret bases of operations.
On the brink of the Bevekia civil war, the army and police forces found themselves woefully out numbered by the many factions that took part during a national debate. Two candidates had become progressively violent during a debate, resulting in a national crisis set up by one of the factions. A Mass shooting during the debate erupted, igniting the fuel to set off a civil war across Bevekia. Different factions rallied for their country of origin's ideals in hopes to secure Bevekia to ally with them. The central Government of Bevekia that is free of any agents fiercely defend their capital building, and the small claim of cities blocks in has, whilst surrounded by enemy forces. The Capital city of Rovan sees conflict in both day and night.
Amongst the territorial disputes each country lay claim to within Bevekia, small pockets of resistance urging for a reunification of the country struggle. Taking arms themselves, establishing their own militias, or hiring mercenaries to fight on their behalf so that they may not fall into any one side. These small settlements wish to unify the country once more to it's former state, free of influence from other nations. It has been three years since the civil war first began; now with all sides further building up military power and constructing to fortify their borders.
This is where we find our two protagonists, where once they met at a young age, now to meet again.
One hails from the Helkan Union, a country from the far west with strong advocacy for militarism. The young boy was a reserved but straightforward individual who had strong instincts as a fighter.
The other, a Vellician, who is part of a prestigious family that has strong ties with their government . A gentle being, though due to her past she suffers self-esteem complications and health issues stemming from her Albinism.
Both had met at a very young age due their parents' ties being great friends in their earlier days. The Helkan Boy's parents were both scientists, while the Girl's parents were both a political leader, and an owner of a company.
The families lived next to each other within Vellicia's Capital, Anthiel. The Helkan scientists had a chance to live elsewhere but stayed for their friends' daughter who displayed unique symptoms that threatened her life.
Her health complications include extreme lethargy under certain conditions, and an autoimmune system that shows volatile behavior if not stabilized. The only stopgap solution found so far to prevent such conditions from happening was via blood transfusion, be it from injection or consumption. Because of this, regular donation of blood was given to her from the Helkan family, with all three glad to help, much to the guilty feeling of the Vellician family.
Such problems also hindered the Vellician girl's early life, titled as a 'Vampire princess', she was often shunned by other families, regardless of them also being albino or not. Such low self esteem prevented the Helkan boy to befriend her, tho eventually his persistency got the better of her.
Being her only friend, the Helkan boy was glad to sacrifice a bit of blood for her, if it meant she would remain relatively healthy. Often, she felt guilty of the situation but even more so was she assured it was okay, and that he was glad to do so.
The two grew closer as the years passed by; whenever she would doubt her own appearance, he would be there to remind her of her own beauty. Be it injuries defending her from harassment, fatigue from blood draining, or just times where he needed to be taken care of, she was there for him.
Naturally, their close relationship led to emotions and feelings past just friends as the neared early adolescence. Officially they haven't gone out considering the Helkan boy was often straightforward with answers and questions, though this question was special in particular. Despite this, the two displayed a very strong bond, being extremely sweet towards one another, and giving out innocent pecks on the forehead and cheek as a cheap tactic to fluster the other.
Both families approved of their developing relationships, as both had known the opposite child for most of their lives.
The two families had a peaceful time living as neighbors and close associates, though fate has other plans for both sides. As tensions rose between the nations, strict persecution of any opposing citizens not of their respective nations began in all countries. The Helkan family had been arrested to the protest of the girl's family, being taken in a moment's notice. The family never returned from that day on, the house next to them left derelict with research for her condition left unfinished.
The RP will take place exactly ten years later, where the Vellician woman finds her conditions worsening once more, only being temporarily cured by the original Helkan family's blood (as tested by some frozen samples left by them decades ago). The family's search leads back to the Helkan Boy's position, where now he operates as a mercenary protecting one of the neutral towns opposing all the other warring factions. Here, the two reunite, once again to continue the search of a cure for her, while also providing another opportunity to rekindle a long lost friendship.
The overarching plot is subject to change if you have any ideas in mind! I'll try to get working on the prologue and have it up once I know if this can get traction or not.
