"Yeah! I'd love to take you one day. S-Specialties? Well, I practiced Gōjū-ryū, so I tend to have a relatively straightforward offense." She absentmindedly responded, her eyes still trained on the shop in front of them. This place gave her the creeps regardless of its outward appearance. "Y-Yeah, really nice, definitely not creepy at all." She put on a brave face before entering the door to the shop. A soft bell chimed as she opened the door, and immediately she was hit with the smell of herbs and incense. The interior was simple; small tables littered the inside, all holding their treasures on top of them. Shelves lined the edges of the room, where all sorts of herbs and pots lay, small white tags hanging from them.
Alerted from the noise of the pair walking in, a tiny older woman turned to greet them. "Oh, h-hi, my name is Akino, and we were wondering if you had any talismans, maybe? Or anything related to any local legends perhaps?"
“Ooh!” Misaki brightened as she stepped through the door. This was the sort of shop she had expected. A nolstalgic smell of incense and herb lingered in the air as they do in so many different temples, and all the wonderful things! Tables full of things, old pottery, dried herbs, little trinkets she couldn’t recognize. She looked up and raised her hand in greeting as the old woman turned to greet them.
“Good day, this is a wonderful shop~” she said with a bright smile. “And if it isn’t too much trouble, I would also like to purchase some incense, there’s such a lovely fragrance here.”
“Welcome, welcome.” The old woman said looking the two girls over. “That table there might have some items to your liking, charms to keep spirits away. Some more things in the back that might suit your needs.”

Akino's eyes nervously flitted around the room, taking in the simple display that was presented before her. She nodded curtly at the woman's words as she shakily combed through the various assortment of baubles and trinkets. Her hand lingered over a particular charm for but a moment before moving to a bundle of herbs. She picked them up and began examining the bit of greenery, trying to figure out what they were used for. Probably just for 'keeping spiritual beings at bay' or something.
"Do you have anything uh... Related to a haunting at the Academy?" She asked sheepishly, making sure to avoid eye contact. She wasn't sure that the old wan actually had anything that would tie back to the school, but if she did it might be a big step in their investigation.
Misaki knelt down at a table full of talismans, sorting carefully through the slips of paper. It was a large assortment, containing almost anything you could want from a charm, be that luck or simply wishing to keep evil away. She picked a couple, ones that were often used to protect against spirits that were clearly hand painted, that would make for good examples for the class.
“Ah, what an interesting request.” The old woman said, with a smile. “Though I have been seeing a lot of students your age coming in here looking for the odd charm or trinket to keep themselves safe. Funny how rumors seem to spread like that.” She chucked.
“We’re doing a project about some urban legends going around our school.” Misaki said, “ So anything to help with that.”
“I see, then I do have something that might interest you.” The old woman said, returning to the back of the room and vanishing through the curtain. Misaki wiggled her eyebrows as she looked over to Akino. The old woman appeared a few seconds later holding a small wooden box.
“Came upon this through a friend who knows a temple where oddities gather.” As she spoke she flipped the box open. Inside was a cracked comb wrapped in a ragged cloth. “According to my friend, this belonged to a girl who died while the building was under construction, one who now haunts the fourth floor bathroom, if you believe that sort of thing.”
