I know that it was mentioned before in an earlier thread that the different categories are by writing level. But what exactly is the difference in writing level? I can't seem to find a clear outline as to what is typically expected in each category.

Casual has no minimum word limit, Intermediate requires five sentences or more, Advance requires ten sentences or more (I think).

As Reyn said, it's mostly about how much you're willing to put in to a post, but you'll also find that things in Casual tend to move a lot more quickly, whereas things in Advanced tend to move much more slowly. You're more than welcome to post in as many of the areas as you like - and also, there's no rule that says you can't write longer posts for Casual or Intermediate if you feel like doing that, as well.

I feel it might be worth noting something along those lines underneath each individual category. That way people would at least have some sort of an idea towards the bare minimum for writing length or the pacing typically expected in X category. Figure it'd clear things up for anyone else in case they might have the same question down the road.
That's a good point. We moved our site here from a less stable platform that kept crashing back in February - on the old site, we did have that information on the front page by every category, but it seems to be something we forgot to update. I'll bring it up with the site admin and see if we can get that put back. Thanks!
