It was a bright and sunny day in two fantasy cities.
One carved out of a canyon called "Canyon City". Made of rock and iron, it's home to several races and heroes - including our heroes. Jhaakar, a risen undead orcish veteran with frost, shadow, and death-based powers. Dreya, a crazy elven mercenary with a split personality between over-obsessively crazy, and very lustful to those close to her. Oark Mate, who is an orcish warrior and one who has rallied his allies and a few armies during wartime. Guzma MVP Pro who is another veteran who has faced much more than Jhaakar has. He is a goblin assassin with a whole arsenal of blades, and machines all kept in his garage. Sertha, an exiled dark elf from her homeland, but likes to treat her enemies like how she treats life: fun and enjoyable to mess with. Also an assassin, she contains an inventory of arcane mana that allows her to gain access to all sorts of abilities like teleportation, agility, & manipulation. Lastly - the main hero of this story - Flara Sunheart. She is a shy elf who is wary of her surroundings, and is full of doubt and fear. She knows how to perform fiery spells - including chaotic fire.
The other was called Stormlight City. This is the main city on the blue side. It is made of brick, cobblestone, and wood. It contains a real castle where the king lives. Our heroes on that side consist of Korelle, a happy spirit and a child-at-heart at the age of over 100 - young for an elf. Razorous the Haxorus is a large, 15 foot tall werewolf who existed after being bitten by a worgen, and later on, being experimented on by the Void, who he desperately wants to banish from existence. Qorm is a hill dwarven farmer and big game hunter who hates whenever anyone destroys his farms. The first time was by a swarm of flies, and the second time was by a team of red paladins who suspected his crops were plagued by the undead. Formi is a librarian looking to play a role as a politician. He's around 45 years old, is a jerk, and has experienced enough back problems in his life. Secretly, he has access to fire magic, as well as chaotic fire, and the ability to summon demons. Asverate is a tall, mute, blue space goat from another planet with the ability to call forth the elements through telepathy. Dullvar is a cranky, darker mountain dwarf who is also a Blacksmith, but generally hates everyone. Auriel is a mysterious shaman with pale skin all hidden under thick robes. Like Asverate, she calls the elements to her aid, but only the elements of water. Lastly, there's Sylveria, a dumb elven druid who relies on her cat form a lot. Thinking she knows life, she normally ends up getting into trouble.
Backstory/Prologue:
Our saviors of the world has just come out of a world war between the Red Side and the Blue Side which tensed relationships with each other from the fault of their leader - Mandosa, later to be revealed as Veras Mandosa - who leads a secret team of mercenaries. The leader was looking for a change in his team called the World Hammer, whose purpose was to protect the world from the greatest threats; from a dragon nearly shattering the world for the gods to a large-scale demonic invasion. They have done so for ten years.
Then... a sudden civil war broke out between the colonizers and the rebels - led by Korelle. The rebels came out on top, and were about to corner his leader... until the real mastermind behind it all quickly shown his face: A mechanical gnomish King in a large suit who led an army of mechanical creatures that inspired Mandosa to start colonizing the world - fighting against his own belief system. He knew he needed to do something. With his artificial spear made out of a head carved into a wolf's head among other adjustments, he landed the final blow to the King in his great suit of armor, causing an explosion that determined Mandosa's fate. Thought to have been dead, he has left behind not only his backpack of engineering supplies, but also left his crafted spear in the corpse of the gnome. A memorial followed suit, where his spear was taken to the ghostlands - right next to his elven homeland he was exiled from.
After ten years, war was finally over... to the minds of our heroes.
These friends celebrated with each other in their respective cities. The Red Side was celebrating the end of their war. All of them were having fun... except for one woman: Flara. She still found it hard to enjoy life when she has a mindset that doesn't understand the world's. Her friends were aware of it, and came to comfort the poor Flara, including her best friend - Sertha, who she knew for a while now. The two got along with one another, and would have each other's backs like the rest of the team.
The blue side also celebrated. However, Korelle was feeling a little sick, and had to be taken to the medics to figure out what is wrong with her. She feels tender, has had a few colds, felt moody than her normal happier self, fatigue, and a few more problems that had her friends concerned. It turns out she was Pregnant, and she doesn't know who the father is. It couldn't be Mandosa, who she was married to at the time. Thinking someone abused Korelle, they had to protect the now-pregnant Korelle.
Then... on both sides, something was wrong. The skies were turning purple, the atmosphere around them was thickening, illusive monsters started appearing throughout the city, and there were no residents or guards in sight - not even both sides' leaders. They were forced to rely on each other.
In Stormlight City - they were being infested with manifestations beyond their reality. There were tumors, eyes, and tentacles growing from every corner. The void has come back to fight back. The team had to get Korelle out of there. They fought ferociously to get to the gates of Stormlight City. Only four of them made it out alive: Korelle, Auriel, Formi, and Asverate. They all sought out a hideout in an old shack, only to one-day, re-emerge, and fight the void.
The void has also sprouted in Canyon City, where the heroes tried to desperately fight their way free as well. Sadly, they all hadn't gotten very far. They stayed as a group the entire time, but was separated group by group. Until... they were just individuals. Everyone seemed to fade away. Jhaakar, Dreya, Oark, all of them. All there was left was Flara and Sertha. They tried their hardest to fight the void. Then... Sertha was snatched. Flara was the only one that remained. Doubtful, paranoid, scared, and sad, Flara felt she had nowhere to go left. She grabbed her hair tightly, and braced herself for what was coming to her.
Little did they know... it was all an illusion.
It was morning. There were clear skies. Birds were chirping, grass was green, the atmosphere was safe to breathe. Flara woke up in a native settlement. She emerged from her tent, feeling a bit lost. She looked around to see the locals so friendly. Then one of the medics came to her. He asked her a couple of questions. Flara tried to explain her friends have all been abducted by the void in Canyon City last night. The tauren residents have no idea what she was talking about. Then, one of the priests came out, and told Flara that she had been facing these hallucinations caused by the void. This was all going to go away. However, Flara, being Flara, didn't think it was going away anytime soon. She knew she had to find her friends. They weren't around. Lost, and not sure where to go, she went back to the tent, and started crying. Hopeless, lost, as well as feeling all sorts of messed up, she thought it was the end of the world. Her friends are really gone! After she finished crying, she just left the settlement with her belongings. There's nothing else Flara could do but become food for the carnivores roaming around the area.
But... Was something going to save her? Will she reunite with her friends again?
OOC:
I intend to make this a long series. It's been something I've wanted to make for a very long time, and I think I'm ready to put it into the works. I'm looking for other people who can play mercenaries who can help poor Flara in her long journey to reunite with her friends, and take out the void.
Any writing style can work, but please don't give me one-liners or Novella.
This is a fantasy world. Please no sci-fi characters unless stated otherwise.
One more rule, please be nice. It's just RP. It's meant to be fun.
