Gerrenthum. A planet located on the Corellian Trade spine, in the Javin sector of the Outer Rim. It intersected three hyperspace routes which made it a hub for trade. This, of course, made it a prime target for the Empire to occupy and made it difficult to do business if it didn't benefit the empire. Things only got worse when the Death Star was destroyed for the final time, and the Emperor was reported killed. High ranking Empire officials left on Gerrenthum locked the world down, keeping anyone from arriving or leaving.
And that was why Pandora was sitting in the cantina drinking, instead of loading her ship up with cargo and moving on. She hated staying in one place for too long. It made it easier for her to be found. She took another sip of her drink, a hood up and covering her pure white hair. She looked down into her drink, sitting quietly. She couldn't help but wonder what was going on, on her homeworld. She shook her head lightly, taking another sip of her drink.
"...I don't really know what the point of a droid ejection system would be if I'm being completely honest, R6."
Tansucra's voice barely rose above the bustling sounds of construction and ships slowly flying in and out of the seedy hangar bay the Twi'lek pilot had "chosen" to stay at. It wasn't so much her choice as it was the Empire forcing her to stay put for the lockdown. The ship had almost broken through the atmosphere when the TIEs showed up, then hijacked the communications system to tell her to turn back. As much as she appreciated some time to tend to her ship, though, Tansucra was running low on credits and was on her way to the next job when the law interfered. The droids than ran rampant around the halls of her ship had mixed reactions. Some of the more adventurous started misbehaving while the other ones decided to quietly help repair the ship.
The Runner wasn't a bad ship - Tansucra had gotten it as cheap as they came, but with her acute knowledge on the anatomy of a ship she was able to get it within reasonable condition. She considered it a thing of beauty, but most other pilots that often passed by didn't feel the same. The looks she got as people walked around the hangar were ignored as Tansucra slid her goggles so they rested on top of her head and gave a soft sigh, letting her shoulders relax. The cannon had been damaged by some sizable debris on their most recent job, knocking the wires around just enough to get it to stop working. Her attention shifted to the black and red astromech working on something below, watching as electricity zapped around the thin metal arms tapping around the wires. R6 let out a couple of low whirrs and chirps.
"Not liking another droid isn't a good reason to implement a system that's native to a starfighter. It would take ages to figure that out! Besides, where would we even put it?"
R6 beeped a couple of times.
"Replace the trans-binary deflector? You mean the one thing that keeps me from being exposed to cosmic radiation and melting into a puddle of goo?"
The droid gave three high-pitched chirps in confirmation.
"Rude."
The young pilot put her goggles back on and looked down to work on the cannon once more, a few sparks flashing as she tried to get it to work. Her eye remained trained on a small red light above the set of wires she was working on, waiting for it to turn green with each move she made. The Runner didn't seem to want to cooperate though, because after tapping two wires together a large spark burst and flames erupted from the source. Tansucra groaned as she rolled back, allowing a small trio of droids to quickly scale out of the ship and tend to the issue. She set her goggles on her head once again and pulled off her gloves in frustration, slamming them to hull of the ship and throwing her hands in the air incredulously.
"That is it! I'm going to go get a drink. R6, stay with the ship and make sure nothing happens. You know what to do if there's a problem." Without waiting for the usual sassy response from the astromech, Tansucra climbed off of the ship and made her way to the nearest cantina. It didn't take long to get there - it was one of the places she went to the most on this stupid planet. Tansucra muttered possible answers and problems to herself as she stepped through the doors and walked straight for the bar, squeezing through a particularly odorous group of what she assumed were drunk pirates. The bar was somewhat sticky as she placed herself there, leaning against it with her elbow as the bartender came by.
"Just give me your strongest, I guess," Tansucra said rather sullenly.
"Mk, that's one Ondaran willek jui-"
"Oh, no - not that strong. Uh...do you have dust juice?"
The bartender looked surprised. "That stuff is disgusting. You really want that?"
"Yeah. It gives me the kick I need."
He gave a shrug and turned to gather the order. As she waited, Tansucra took a gander of the bar. There was a fair amount of patrons, which was unsurprising with the lockdown and all. There weren't many places to go besides the local cantinas. It was just a normal cantina scene - the light music playing, slurs of drunken patrons asking for another or challenging friends to little games to prove their worth. She turned back to the bartender as he slid the drink her way, and she gave him a quiet nod of thanks as she took the beverage in her hands. The possible issues of the cannon on The Runner trailed through her mind as she stared blankly into the countertop.
Vraz' ship left hyperspace as the Imperial blockade had just begun to form up. His mandalorian fighter was immediately contacted by the nearest star destroyer and was told to leave Gerrenthum. Having fought the Empire, he had a few tricks up his sleeve to get through the blockade without having to blast his way through even though it would be easy enough. "Take it easy, I got security clearance. Transmitting clearance code." "Code Received. You're good." The Imperial officer responded. Vraz knew the code would get him in but he wasn't sure about getting out.
Once Vraz broke atmosphere, he glanced at the Auduran crystal he stole from that Phoenix Empire Freighter. The light had started to pulse and was getting stronger. If he was told correctly, the crystal would take him to the last surviving member of the royal family. Vraz found himself going toward one of the larger spaceports on Gerrenthum. "Well, hopefully this won't take long." Vraz landed at an open pad next to a ship that seemed to have droids crawling all over it. He shook his head in slight amusement.
Once his ship was landed, Vraz disembarked from his Fang Fighter. Both the mandalorian's armor and his fighter was going to attract attention. Vraz placed his Jetpack on his back, he never went anywhere without it. Also, attached to the Jetpack was the sheathe of the beskad. Vraz looked once more at the crystal in his hand. "Alright, let's go." Vraz stepped off into the crowd, watching how the crystal reacted. After what seemed like forever, Vraz entered a cantina as a slight breeze blew his cape. Vraz stepped inside, with each step, you could hear his armor chink and more pairs of eyes would land on him. He watched the crystal closely until it seemed to point him at a lone, cloaked patron at the bar. Vraz made his way to the empty seat next to the cloaked woman, he removed his helmet and placed it in front of him, "Barkeep, I'll take a Flameout." Vraz placed credits on the bar as his drink was placed in front of him. Once, the barkeep walked away, Vraz pulled out the crystal, casually placing it in front of the cloaked, white haired woman. "Do you wanna tell me about this thing? Seems it led me right to you." Vraz took a sip of his drink, it was a strong drink, but it felt great.
Pandora had been minding her own business when a familiar glowing item was placed on the counter in front of her. Already? Something was different, though. Bounty hunters didn't usually have one, and the Aundurian Soldiers that had been chasing her for so long usually weren't this quiet about it. They also would know what the item was. She was silent, a side glance didn't give her much information except that the man was covered in armor. It was a little difficult to tell if he truly didn't know, or wanted her to give herself away.
"What do you want to know about it?" She asked, taking a sip of her drink, deciding to play it off instead of pulling her blaster out like she usually would do. She was curious to see what he would say or do. She wasn't sure if he even knew who she was. The armor seemed a lot sturdier than the ones she's used to to going against.
Vraz felt the fire go down his throat as he sipped his drink. The cloaked woman remained casual and asked what he wanted to know. So Vraz told her. "Well, I've been able to figure out some of it. It glows the closer it gets to you." He noticed the crystal was practically glowing steadily. "Which seems like to me, that makes it a tracking device for you. Now what's more intriguing is I found it on the corpse of an Aundurian Sargeant after I killed him and his entire platoon." Vraz had had help from 2 other mandalorians which had since returned to Mandalore to assist in the fight against the Empire. "Now, those soldiers would only leave Aundurian Space tracking you if you had been captured or if they were hunting you, seeing as you are clearly not captured, that only leaves the second option." Vraz downed his drink and looked at the woman. "Which means the rumors are true, that a coup happened on your homeworld." Vraz lowered his voice even further than it was already. "Princess, I'm here to restore you to your throne." Vraz said this as quietly as possible. He didn't know if anyone else in the Cantina was collaborating with the Galactic Empire or Phoenix Empire. He knew how important it was to keep her as hidden as possible.
