This version of the idea is reserved for Miro-Chan and myself. However, I'm open to doing this with others if messaged about it.
"Those that are broken can find a strong enough glue to pull themselves back together, and those who can't end up allowing themselves to be brushed away into the trash the makes up the world." - Cora Hatfield Williams, Blissful Ignorance pre January 2017 wipe
Theme songs for the rp: All I See and Home, both by NateWantsToBattle
Nobody should have to be hurt by another person, and they shouldn't be driven to hurt themselves either. These are the truths that people grow up with before the media does their best to desensitize us from violence, and for some, this is shattered early because of one little but powerful word: abuse. Those who endure it either become bullies, become the target of bullies, or they push everyone away just so they don't risk getting hurt by another. There are those who wish to help those people get help, and there are those who would appear to be glad that they want to rid themselves from the world, but what about the survivors of abuse? Those people, it's unpredictable how they may react once it ends. They may become reserved, they may act out, but their mental health may never be the same as it once was.
Marcel Barone knows about abuse, and it's not hard for him to admit that because he both endured and witnessed it. He made it clear to his best friend after it ended that he was determined to help people, and it caused him to continue to pursue a career in music that would allow him to do so. It's senior year of college for him, and while he's struggled with things at home resulting from escaping his abusers, he noticed the kid who has done their best to shut everyone out known as Coda Moon. He may not have gone to the college for that long, but he knows that something's wrong with him and wants to help him. He doesn’t live that far from him off campus, and after a particularly rough incident at Coda’s house, he goes over and quickly makes up an excuse to see him and get him out of the house. Can Marcel save Coda, and once both of their pasts are revealed, can he handle the aftermath of someone knowing what he went through without shutting the other guy out in the meantime, especially when it's revealed that the guy he's trying to help actually a girl?
Or will Damien Summers, a former bully that complicated things for him in the past, tear Coda away from Marcel before he can even do so?
