The kingdom of Nordennica
Many years ago the lands were nothing more than wild, untamed, wilderness. Eat or be eaten was the life style of the beasts and it's inhabitants, that was until the great king Alec Ferromore sought out to take control and bring these vast and dangerous wilds into a new age. And so he and his people sought to do so.
His son Alec the second may not have conquered the lands but built further upon them than his father. Establishing a kingdom and townships and cities for his people to live in. Creating farms for his people to grow and mine for his people to advance.
His son Alec the third may not have built with his hands but he built relationships with his words alone. Building powerful companionships and peace treaties with the Baetens of the south and Emarians over seas. This built brought much diversity and power to the country with all of the new trades coming in.
And the king now, Alec the Fourth has brought these lands into the new age. He is the king of many advancements, refined metals, electricity, and equal prosperity to his peoples. And as long as he lives he only seeks to make more advancements and build even further for his country…
--------------------------
Or at least that's what the scribes would say. The kingdom of Nordennica has been nothing but a rot, a plague on these lands. Ripping out it's resources, stripping it's magics and removing all of those who did not bend the knee to "progress" king after king slowly killed these lands. And the latest king, Alec the Fourth, has been the worst. He stands against all the empower this world and actively seeks to destroy the very building blocks of nature for his new age of the future. It has gotten so wretched that those of who aren't in the inner circle are seeking to stop it by any means. Elven races, high, woodland, and dark from the north have banned together to protect what's left of the magics. Dwarves and orcs protect the mountains of the east from the kingdoms ravenous carving if the earth and even his own people of the lower classes are turning against him.
The kingdom is on the verge of war. A war that would change the very essence of the world.
---------------------------
So I've been sitting on this idea for a while now.
Imagine a war between progress and nature. The now vs. the then, the people who live in the kingdom or it's townships usually live very well for peasants but those who don't or can't often live very poor and miserable, often leading to a disdain towards the fortunate.
While some elves have joined the kingdom for the many benefits that it brings most try and protect the lands and it's natural magic producing ways. The kingdom had very strict rules against magic especially regarding it with technology. Many of these rules are basically banning and destroying magic and magical artifacts.
Regarding dwarves and orcs some how just to spite the kingdom have teamed up to protect the mountains from the approaching menace and stripping them of everything, leaving nothing but ruin in it's wake. Dwarves don't like their shit being stolen and orcs don't like someone else stealing their jobs.
------------------
I need a cowriter to help with main conflict but it will essentially be about the kingdom versus the resistance. While the kingdom will have knights, armies, and equipment on their side the resistance has numbers, magic and cunning. I will be coming up with roles for each. But right now let's see whose interested.
