He wasn't getting a lunch break today, though. Not technically- he had scheduled himself a full two hours away from his post, but he wasn't meant to spend that relaxing. No, he had an interview. Someone by the name of Eli, with a sparse but passable CV. Not that anyone saw him read it, of course. It was fairly well-known amongst those in the loop that Kosuke didn't really hold the same values as a conventional employer. No, his interview style was more... well, he tended to call it friendly and informal, but detractors tended to find it more vague and unprofessional than anything else.
One PM passed—the exact hour the interview was meant to start—and Kosuke bolted upright in his seat, as if his body were somehow its own alarm clock. He accompanied the gesture with a cat-stretch, a loud yawn, and a grasping hand sliding towards his half-drained coffee cup. He took a sip and grimaced.
"Aw, fuckin' ice has all melted..." He muttered, "It's just water now... hey, Cass? Can I get another cold brew?"
If Eli happened to be already standing in front of him, he would be none the wiser.

It had been a slow day at VULTURE- and slow days tended to result in Kosuke spending the entire morning asleep at the front desk. Today was no exception, much to his colleagues' chagrin. The store was minimally staffed, as ever- two people in the cafe, two people in the store, with half of the latter being out of commission at the desk. Any attempts to rouse him were met with a half-hearted thumbs-up, and absolutely no change in posture. Things at rest tended to stay at rest- that's what he always told them. He'd liven up after his lunch break. He always did.He wasn't getting a lunch break today, though.
