Powers and Limitations:
Mistifying Physiology - Mister E's unique meta physiology has made him more akin to a sentient collection of mist than a man. He doesn't tire or sleep, barely eats, leaves no finger prints, and has not visibly aged sense his "death". While he is no more durable than the average man when injured his broken body mistifies and reforms faster than standard healing. Similarly poisons and toxins injected or ingested have no effect on him. He does have a vital weakness however, he still needs to breathe.
Man of mist - Mister E can partially or fully become mist at will. This allows him to avoid damage in combat, access almost everywhere for his investigations, and even turn invisible. He can also extend this ability to anything he can carry, excluding living things. While he is difficult to hit and stop it is not impossible to do so. A quick or surprising enough attack will likely find it's target, and an air tight room will be difficult for Mister E to infiltrate. Mister E also cannot become mist when submerged underwater.
Mist maker- While Mister E seems to passively produce a little mist, he can also choose to produce excess from his person at will. The effect is like a fog machine, gradually filling the surrounding room or area with a visually imparing but non leathal fog perfect for creating cover over the course of several minutes.
Mister E can also shape and harden mist into weapons and tools as needed. Though these constructs can be complex they are limited in size and will fade back into mist if taken beyond 300 ft. Common constructs include...

August 5th, 1932, prohibition Pittsburgh. 1 week after the daylight assassination of 3 of the Vlope Brothers. This violent act brought the number of unsolved gang murders to 100, but that wouldn't last long. Detective Lawrence Roland Eldredge had a lead. Everyone knew John Bazzano had something to do with the hit, his guilt was solidified by his sudden disappearance the day before, but there was no solid proof. Word on the street was one of the unidentified trigger men was getting a little worried about Vlope retaliation, possibly enough to rat out Bazzano. It was a long shot but if the rumors were true this could crack this case wide open, well worth the risk. Unfortunately for Lawrence the rat turned out to be a trap, and for his trouble all he got was lead poisoning from a Chicago typewriter. The body was never found, and Lawrence Eldredge was all but forgotten.
78 years later a pale, ghostly figure materialized into existence. After a seemingly eternal existence of weightless consciousness the prohibition era detective had returned, but he and the city around him had changed to be all but unrecognizable. Curious and confused, the detective stepped into the unknown looking for answers. Over the next few years a strange, ghostly figure dubbed "the Pittsburgh Poltergeist" was seen visiting the grave of a murdered detective, digging through old police records, and occasionally over unconscious criminals. Eventually the sightings stopped, Lawrence Eldredge faded into history, and in 2016 the mysterious "Mistsr E" began his career as a private meta detective.
