"LING! LING FE! LIIIING!"
Kuzon's voice echoed through the abandoned streets of San Se. It had been days sense he last saw the mute masked woman darting toward the eminent danger of the fire nation advance. Sense then it was one disaster after another and always one step behind her. The slaughtered squad he found just as another turned the corner, the house of survivors awaiting an escort to get them out of town, the ambush that resulted in a night escaping a fire nation cell. Each day brought more challenges, and no Ling Fe.
As the chaos died down and the battle got further away Kuzon had hoped he'd find her with some last minute group of refugees ready to leave, but there was no such luck. So he began his search, calling out into the streets, searching abandoned homes, anywhere she might be found. He knew she couldn't answer so he was thorough, especially in the wreckage. Poor Ling could be stuck beneath some collapsed roof somewhere with no way to call for help. And if there happened to be valuables left behind it would only be polite to remove them. The last thing this town needed was looters.
"LING FE WHERE ARE YOU?"
Kuzon shouted as he began down yet another street. As always, there was no response, but as he looked at the houses he noted something strange. The closest house seemed slightly wet, and visible cracks in the walls were filled in. Further down the road there was another, and another. Someone had been here, put out the fires, repaired the damage, and they did it recently. As though fate itself had allowed it as he began to wonder who did this he saw the top of a burning building on the next street over suddenly have streams of water float around it and put out the fire. No doubt whoever was doing that did this, and such a person would be the kind of person Ling would be helping.
As quickly as he could the young earth bender rushed down the street, around the corner, and up the next to see not one but two people in front of the now smoldering building. The earth citizen man he did not recognize, but the water tribe girl looked familiar. Didn't she leave with the other water tribe women and her bearwolf? There's probably a story there, but this wasn't the time. Kuzon quickly approached and called out to the pair.
"Have either of you seen a masked woman lately? Doesn't talk, plays the mandolin, you'd know her if you saw her."
