A fight had broken out at botanical gardens. A figure in red and blue darting as vines and plants mutated and grown several times their size flew at the acrobatic aerialist. A pair of ropes of webbing flew from his wrists as he swung up and over several of the flying vines before darting past and through the intertwining and more predatory plants trying to clamp their chlorophyll-filled jaws into him. Before landing on one wall inside of the building. The ceiling had exploded only a few minutes prior as these plants had grown uncontrollably upward.
The red figure, no longer trapezing about, could be easily discovered to be none other than Spider-Bite.
"Listen, lady! You think you're taking the green thumb thing a bit too far?"
The only other person ins the room as her eyes and body glowed with soft yet brilliant light spoke through ruby-red lips.
"It's necessary. Your interference, though, is not."
The tendrils and thorns of the plant life began to turn, focusing and homing in on the arachnid hero. His eyes scanned all of them as they closed in before leaping forward, spinning around in mid-air before webbing all off the plants together to one another.
And appearing out of the other side of the grouped plants, safe and sound, as many of them had been trapped and entangled into one another via the new silk entrapments keeping them attached unwillingly into one another.
Another line fired from his wrist before he swung in to deliver a mighty kick to this green-skinned temptress, "Yeah, well, I'm not a fan of the whole mind control thing. So excuse me-AGH!"
A series of new plants grew suddenly from the ground, right as he reached the bottom of his swing, and wrapped arounds his torso as thorns began to dig through his pseudo-spandex suit and into his skin.
"AGH! What?"
Something was being injected into him, pumped through the thorns and into him. It somehow pierced through his skin enough to draw a bit of blood. That was impossible.
Who was this woman?
"Well, it certainly isn't ideal, but having you be patient zero should help speed things up."
Patient zero? What was she talking about?
Whatever it was, she examined him over before smiling ever so subtly. It seems that what she had done to him had been satisfactory.
Before turning her around, returning her attention to the work she was undergoing before Spider-Bite had leaped into the fray.
A giant rumbling began to shake the foundations of the entirety of the botanical gardens as a rather large flower blossomed forth from the ground. Its roots would take ahold under the city, sprouting dozens of small flowers from between cracks in the sidewalk, in the cracks of buildings, and small vines everywhere. And a certain chemical substance would pump itself into the air, concentrating in it and bring about the smell of flowers ever so strongly into the air, and everyone would inhale it, either through the ventilation, through the New York air, or from simply examining one of these marvelous flowers. Whatever the case, everyone would inhale it and feel different. Their hearts beating faster and their minds just ever so slightly under a new influence.
An esoteric and mystical influence.
"And done. You're too late."
Spider-Bite's heart was pounding. Faster than normal. Faster than fear would allow. Should allow. What was happening to him? His eyes began to close.
He was going to pass out.
"Sleep tight. You're going to need it."
Cassidy's eyes flickered, trying to push through, trying to fight against the bonds than held him. There was no use.
"I bet you say that to all the . . . "
He fell into that sweet surrender that was sleep.

The entire city would find its screen begin to change. The same ethereal beauty from earlier at the botanical gardens revealed herself to all.
The screens on Time Square and several news networks would find themselves irresistibly drawing their attention to this red-haired
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen," she purred as she crossed her legs, reclining back in the center of the extravagantly large flower, "Name's Cypris."
She gestured through the screen to the audience, "You can probably feel the effects right now today. Your hearts beating ever so slightly uncontrollably. Maybe a little heat in the cheeks. Butterflies in your stomach. No, you're not sick. Well, perhaps sick with love! Courtesy of the plants throughout this city pumping this city full of that little spark you all need!"
She placed a hand under her chin and smirked.
"Within 48 hours, at the end of Valentine's day, your hearts will beat so fast that they'll simply can't handle it anymore. After all, that's what happens when you keep love stored up so long. You just can't take it a moment longer. So go out, find someone to spend the day with. Make it a date! And your love sick curse will be set free!
She smiled before taking the hand under her chin and raising it to the air as a heart formed out of vines and grew flowers of various shapes and sizes all along.
"If you have any further questions, ask the flowers. Helplines are standing by."
The televisions would resume their programming.

I woke up, finding myself on a rooftop that did not belong to me. Was it early morning? The sun was rising. Wait, that fight. It was mid-afternoon. That woman Cypris knocked me out of the fight! I began to raise myself off the cold rooftop before clutching my chest, right over my heart. Pain shot throughout my body before fading, slowly and steadily, yet it beat so fast. What was happening?
My eyes widened as sweat fell off my brow under the mask.
What had she done to me? What was she doing to this city?

OOC Rules & Whatnot:
- The first ever Valentine's Day event!
- Some people have already been on dates and reports say that you can go out with anyone and it works!
- It seems to be that one must spend at least one hour's worth of time with another person before ending the date with something special, and it can be whatever! A gift, flowers, a kiss!
- No one seems to be immune.
- I did this out of sheer, mind-numbing boredom. Have fun!
