Hey there. I'd like to jump in on this if nobody has a problem with that. I have read over everything from the ooc and the RP threads. So I'm caught up with everything already. I would however like to ask if anybody has any suggestions as to what kind of role they think would be best to add to the current group set up. I have a few ideas but I thought that some group input would help to keep the RP squad dynamic well rounded out. Anyways, hope to hear back soon and hope to be able to join in on the fun with everyone else.
P.S. Good to see you again Gecko. Hope that everythings been going well with you lately. It's been a while since we last spoke.

I believe comms/drone operator is still an open position. We could have more, but that's the only one I can think of at the moment.
Sorry that it's been so long since I last posted. I was in a wreck last Wednesday night and was in pain basically all of Thursday. Since then things have been really hectic and I've been trying to take care of a number of things.
Anyways, onto the position/s that was/were suggested. I'm going to start with comms simply because it was listed first in the suggestions in your reply. With this I simply don't know how relevant it would really be. Because, from what I know at least, in field comms operators aren't really much of a thing anymore. Most communications seem to be handled from bases, camps, or other controlled areas. Very rarely does communication need to be handled by the members in the field, especially in elite squads, or private small company contractors like we seem to be representing. If they are then that usually means being in one area for an extended period of time which would require something along the lines of a safe house, an on site outpost, or a mobile comms set up which would be in the back of a vehicle of some sort. Also in these situations comms would generally be handled by a squad leader, there second in command, or the groups intelligence officer. So I just honestly don't see how that would work.
Next you suggested a Drone operator. Now, for this one I do think have drones as an option for the team to take advantage of would be great. However, having a dedicated character for that would most likely leave them out of the action even more than the comms position. Drones are generally controlled through satellite connections, because they're being controlled back in the states either from a base, or the control center of whatever corporation is in control of the drone. Operators rarely leave the states at all. If they do they generally still remain on bases or large scale military camps where chances of them being in danger is still extremely low. The rare usage of small on site drones are usually used by a groups recon members, or member, depending on the size of the group. Larger drones are still controlled somewhere else and at most only wait for the on site team to mark their targets. Otherwise the drones usage is completely controlled off site and even their targets can be chosen that way. If a drone operator was to be on site then they would require a vehicle with even more advanced systems then a comm truck would require.
Basically it just seems like if the story is going to take place either in a location where we have to be discreet, or in multiple random locations where we jump to from time to time. Than using an on site vehicle for either one of these positions would be problematic. Because they would both likely call to much attention to the team. Not to mention they would also require unnecessary cost to be spent. Especially when it would just be easier to keep the person in charge of either of these positions back at the companies command center, or at most a base closer to the operations site. Which if that's the case it might be better to ask from aid from said base and just let one of there personnel handle the situation. Which would cost even less money. I merely mention this stuff about cost because of the fact that I know the company isn't supposed to be one with a ungodly nearly endless fund to use for their missions.
I hope this doesn't sound ungrateful. Especially since I did ask for suggestions. I'm merely concerned if they would be practical to use. As well as the fact that if they were not with the group on site I just don't feel like the character would really have much opportunity to actually be involved.
However, I have also been trying to come up with ideas of my own. Unfortunately I've not had much luck either. The only thing I really came up with was a team field medic, but I couldn't think of anything else to pair that with, at least that didn't seem to already be taken, so the character would be more useful to the group. I would still love to be a part of this, if I'm still welcomed to do so, I just don't know what role would really be of use at this point. I hope to hear back soon, and hope that it may be a positive response.

A medic could be useful. Also, you may have noticed we don't really have a sniper. And someone who specializes in infiltration could also be useful. TBH, there are quite a few positions. I'll try to come up with a list.
I honestly was wondering if your character was supposed to be the teams sniper, but wasn't sure. I do know that both your character and argonauts character have a sniper rifle. I wasn't sure about infiltration. I knew argonauts character was supposed to be recon and intelligence so I honestly wasn't sure if that would involve infiltration or not. Also when I woke up I did just happen to think about the possibility that it might be good if our team had a sort of intermediary who could make contacts with potential allies in areas we were going to be, as well as also being the person who gets stuff we might not know we need either until we're out in the field or because we need to resupply after having to stay somewhere longer than initially planned for. I guess that would sort of be a liaison/procurement specialist. If you think it could work then I could do that and be the medic as well. But if that doesn't work then I'll be happy to look over any other suggestions you have for me.

Well, we don't have a specific person assigned to the sniper role, and TBH Argo is the only one equipped with a sniper rifle. The M21 is a designated marksman rifle, the role of the designated marksman is to bridge the gap between front line and sniper. So sniper could be a reasonable position. In addition to sniper, I have created a list of 5 other possible positions.
Would a combination of medic and combat engineer be acceptable, or would you prefer that I chose a different pair up?
Combination of medic and combat engineer is 100% acceptable. TBH, I had a friend in the military that had those exact roles. Also, if you have trouble picking weapons, I'd be happy to help.
That's cool. I keep wondering if the two positions could actually overlap or if there would be any sort of conflict when it came to the amount of gear that had to be carried for each job or not.
As far as weapons go. I was planning on using a M4 Carbine equiped with a Trijicon ACOG 4x32 BAC USMC RCO, a MaTech Mil-Spec BUIS, and an m320 launcher for the main weapon. This would probably be my characters primary weapon. For a sidearm I was thinking the sig sauer p320 with a ROMEO3XL. I had two melee weapons picked out. A 1918 us knuckle duster trench knife, and a gerber mark II fixed blade. But I'm still trying to come up with a secondary weapon. I might go with a shotgun of some type. But I'm honestly not sure. Let me know what you think.
Ok. But I thought that the RP was supposed to be taking place in a real world based setting though. If that's the case then wouldn't that mean that there was only one EX-41 in the whole world. Which is a prototype in the possession of Knight's Armament Company.
Also, a while after I had posted I ended up coming up with a possibility for my secondary weapon. I was thinking about using a Remington 870 DM Magpul. Anyways let me know what you think. While I'm waiting I'll try to finish up everything else for my characters sheet and once all of that's done I'll try to post it up asap.

Sorry, I've been absent for a while. I've been busy taking care of things IRL. I'll try to finish up my character and have him up before this weekend. I'll also probably go with a China Lake as you suggested. Anyways, sorry for the holdup and I'll try to get everything finished asap.
