Heavens, but there were a lot of people here. Elia was not used to that at all. Even if all of the Seraphim had been rallied at once, there would hardly be more than the defenders assembled here, and the idea of a threat that would cause such a response was... terrifying. Fortunately, it was neither here nor there. Most of the people she did not know, but that was not a point against them. It simply meant they had not been introduced yet - and this was hardly the time for proper introductions.
One of them asked her if she was a Faith Healer, and Elia shook her head regretfully. "No. One of the Seraphim." She supposed that perhaps she should not throw around information like that quite so casually, but if he knew about Faith Healers, he probably had a passing knowledge of what she was as well - though Elia had no idea where he might have gleaned it.
That, or it had all just been one of those coincidental phrases... but it was too late to turn back now, and there were, as she had noticed, other things to be worried about. "And one of his friends." Were she and the mysterious Spider-Bite friends? She supposed that was a decent question. They had met only a few times, after all, and yet... he was a decent man. A good man, or at the very least someone who tried to be a good man, and sometimes that was even rarer to find. She would be his friend if he would have her for one, she supposed, and that was enough for right now.
Some of the people here were truly terrifying, though. One of them was of the sort that made Elia reach for her spear unthinkingly, an obvious demon if there ever was one - yet no one else seemed to be attacking the woman, and indeed most of them seemed to think she was someone reliable. Elia gave the demon-girl a wary glance for now, but took her cues from the others and left it at that for the time being. Perhaps... all was not as it seemed. She was reminded of Jacob Hunter and his beastly visage - and yet he was a gentle man beneath it all, a fierce protector and one that she called a friend as well. If this woman, too, was nothing demonic, then it would pass in time.
And if she was, that could be dealt with in time as well.
For now, though, Spiderbite. Ms. Smith seemed to be the most reliable source of quickly useful information - two souls, and in opposition. Perhaps that said something more about Spider-Bite's own struggles. It made Elia even more determined to protect the man she knew he could be, even in the face of his sudden shift - for without much warning, it was he who attacked the defenders, and his erstwhile assailant made his own attacks as well. Her words to him seemed to have had some effect, though, whether or not he realized it, for he'd stopped attacking Spider-Bite himself in favor of some of the others present.
Elia gave herself some distance, but closed in on Spider-Bite - not quickly, in the way of someone attacking, but calmly, as one would approach a wounded animal. She breathed in, and let God's light fill her words.
"This isn't who you want to be. You are a better man than this. Your friends are here. We will protect you. Fight for yourself."
