In an instant, the young witch found herself jettisoned from her cocoon of shadow.
She flew and she flipped as she soared through the air. But, in time, she managed to get her bearings. She had shown the capacity for flight during their first encounter, after all. But, it looked like her shadows couldn’t follow her into the sky. Then, she explained a bit more about her magic before summoning a storm…
…and issuing a challenge in the form of a question.
Kore merely raised a brow, once more, and watched- felt- the power of Zeus built to two points above her head.
The double moved in unison with its original.
The hunter raised her arm above her head just a moment before a blinding light filled the area. It happened so fast, that you had to wonder if anyone could perceive it. Lighting roared as it fell upon her and struck her raised arm. It pushed and tore until it shattered against her Pride; unable to conduct itself through the barrier that denied it entry. Fragments of the bolt arced down and away from her body; leaving four scars of charred earth surrounding her as the earth quaked in pain. Not a single burn on the land beneath her feet.
Slowly, she lowered her arm and admired the burn that covered her left forearm. Well…One of them did, at least. As for the other, well…
It seemed as though the fake didn’t appreciate that blast quite much. For a second or two, its form seemed to stutter around the point of injury. Its arm rippling- destabilizing- for a moment before it seemed to resettle. It was unlikely that Silvaria saw it from that distance, but Carmen undoubtedly did. Bits of blackened, charred… something falling out of the double and the smell of... roasted nuts?
How odd.
The original, however, kept her attention focused on Silvaria and raised her blunt blade in her direction. And it was honestly in the witch’s best interest to do the same. She wore the reddened flesh on her left arm as a badge of honor for a proud instructor. Oh, and she’d heard every word that Silvaria spoke. And she had a simple question to ask in return.
The real Kore vanished.
And, in that moment, Silvaria might’ve experienced a flash of deja vu. An ominous shadow consumed her as something blocked out the light from above. And, if she looked up, she’d see the hunter descending from mere inches-a foot at best- above. Or, at least, her silhouette in the moonlight. And maybe she’d remember her own words at that moment.
The destruction and scale that came with her own spells, hmm?
Oh, she could zap Kore with that lightning right then and there, but she had to be aware that- in that near instantaneous moment- after it passed along and burned the hunter above, it had nowhere to go but down. Even more than that, she held her sword high. A veritable lightning rod in hand. But, well, there were all things that Silvaria would only have a moment to observe and process. Because, as soon as Kore locked eyes with Silvaria?
She’d tighten her grip on the blunt blade-
-and bring it down upon her.

"No.”

"I’ve gotten pretty good at predicting it, though.

"Can you?”
