A soft rain drizzled through the early morning light, a few birds chirping, shaking dry in the trees outside the kitchen. Sarah hummed softly, a few plates resting lightly on her web as she prepared breakfast. The smell of French toast drifting through the empty halls.
She blinked in the sunlight, leaning out the window "Breakfast is ready, whenever you are! It'll be better warm." Plating a few meals, she set the bread and eggs aside, moving on to press some fresh juice as the coffee brew.
Kote sighed, moving a few tools into a small shed on the edge of the gardens. "Ah yes, the breakfast half our guests miss cause they sleep in. Such a sweetheart." Glancing across the gardens, the wide courtyard surrounding a fountain with several different flour beds with a rainbow of color. Beyond that, trees of all kinds filled the mansions grounds, with the large iron gate around the property.
Mya was already awake, gently brushing her hair to get ready for the day. Even though she had her own bed, she was in Kit’s room. She was still too scared to sleep by herself, not wanting to be alone in the dark. Once she had finished, she sat the brush down and walked over to the bed. Mya shook him awake, smiling down at him, “Good morning, sleepyhead! I smell food, that means it’s time to get up and active!” She sang in her normal, cheery voice. ***
Mikitaka slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes before stretching. He reached his hand out for Mya to take, following her to a seat before sitting himself down. He listened to her dragging another seat to stand on, pushing it right behind the stool he was placed on. “I hope you slept better than I.” He mumbled, still feeling exhausted. Kit closed his eyes as Mya start to brush his hair for him, humming as she put it into a neat ponytail. She pulled out cute hair clips that she had in the pocket, they looked like cherries. She carefully placed them into his hair before kissing his cheek softly. “All done!” As she hopped down, Kit reached his hand up to feel what she had put into his hair with a smile on his face. “Thank you, sweetheart. Now let’s go get you something to eat.” He slowly stood up, feeling Mya grabbing at his clothing and leading him out of the room, all the way to the kitchen. ***
Riko had already been up for a couple of hours, but hadn’t ate yet. She wasn’t really hungry. She enjoyed eating, but never felt the need to eat. She missed it. She decided to just stay in bed a bit longer before getting bored and sliding herself out of bed. Riko knew that most or some people were going to either be downstairs or in the kitchen. Though she wanted to work on the social skills, she didn’t like the idea of doing it this early in the morning. She got herself dressed before quickly leaving the room, want to go to look at all the flowers she could find around the mansion. Riko really wanted to make a flower crown, but she didn’t want to ruin any of the flowers because they looked too beautiful to be messed with.
Joshua would yawn softly as he got up, stretching a bit before walking and moving around his room to help himself wake up. Eventually he'd deem himself awake enough, changing out of his night clothes and into his usual outfit before exiting his room. Mostly following the scent of breakfast in the kitchen, hoping he wasn't too late, despite being a glutton, he had enough restraint to leave some for other people.

Kote locked up the shed, moving down a row of flowers, noticing Riko admiring the flowers "You can take some, if you want. They're in good hands, and will be back in bloom in no time.." He pulled a soft orange flower from the stem, looking it over in his hands. "After all, what is a flower if not admired and enjoyed by its viewer?"
Sarah had begun setting up the dining table now, a few plates of food steaming warm already ready for her guests. The Mansion had a large dining room of course that could hold everyone, but she preferred the smaller one, connected to the kitchen by a long bar with stools. It had more of a family feel in her opinion. Taking a bite of a strawberry as she smiled, looking down the hallway "Good morning Mya, I do hope you slept well! How are you this morning Miki?" She moved easily through the kitchen, placing a larger plate at the bar as Joshua came in "Morning Josh, how are you today?"
Joshua would immediately try to sit where the large plate was put, "I am doing well today, how about you? Get enough sleep?" He asked in response, starting to wolf down his breakfast some, it honestly took a fair bit of willpower to stop long enough to look like he was listening as much as he was.
“Good morning! I did, I got to sleep in Kit’s bed.” Mya said proudly as she let go of his shirt and pulled out the seat for him, helping him sit himself down. Her favorite spot was right besides him, so she climbed onto her chair and stood on it so she could help him eat his breakfast without making a mess. She might’ve been so young, but she enjoyed being his little helper. Mya couldn’t wait for him to regain his eyesight again so he can see all the beautiful things he’s been missing out on. “Hello!” She waved to Joshua before cutting up Kit’s French toast. ***
Kit turned his head toward where he heard Sarah’s voice, giving her a soft smile. “I’m doing quite well, thank you for asking. And how might you be, my dear?” He asked before hearing Joshua’s voice, giving him a small nod as a good morning. ***
Riko shuddered a bit when she heard a man’s voice. She still hadn’t gotten everyone’s names down yet, she’s been trying to avoid the men in the house out of fear. Old habits die hard, I guess. She slowly turned her head to see who it was before forcing herself to give him a little smile, feeling like it was taking all of her energy just to do that. She watched as he plucked an orange flower, then noticed the silence had been going on a bit too long now. Riko took a deep breath before talking as loud as she possibly could to him, which was just a whisper. “T-thank you, did you p-plant all these by yourself?” She turned her attention back to the flowers, knowing she was able to take them, but was too nervous to move yet.
Sarah smiled to Joshua, preparing him a second plate without thought "Oh, I slept just fine thank you for asking." Turning to Kit and Mya "I'm doing just fine, just some silly city folk on my mind" she began cleaning the bar surface absent-mindedly. "But it isn't anything to worry over."
Kote shook his head "Oh no, That would be Sarah and her family before her. I just keep them looking good." He thought of handing the orange bud to her, but shrugged instead, letting it float away in the slight breeze. "I think the gardens make this place a safe space. Helps with trauma, would you say?" He tilted his head smiling a little, he could tell she was struggling talking to him.
Sorry for not responding sooner, school has had me busier than usual as of late-)
Joshua did his best not to tear his cheeks while eating, commenting with a chuckle before he continued though. "I thought they wouldn't be likely to believe in us, not too many urban legends that people believe."
Mya’s face started to turn slightly red, thinking she had been ignored. She had her complete focus on cutting up the French toast, sliding the plate closer to Kit. “Be careful, it’s hot. I can help you, if you want!” She offered before grabbing her own plate and doing the same, taking pretty huge bites out of it. “Thank you got the food!” She said with her mouth full. ***
Kit placed a hand on Mya’s head softly, rubbing her head sweetly before bringing his attention to his food. He used his fingertips to find his fork, picking it up. He slowly start to eat, making sure he was careful because his vision was very blurry. Luckily, he was smart enough to know where his mouth his, so he didn’t have much trouble with it. ***
“Oh.” Riko mumbled, glancing over at him before shrugging lightly. “I-I wouldn’t really know… I haven’t had one. It’s very beautiful though.” She tried to smile at him back, her face was getting pretty red. This was the longest conversation she has ever had with a man for years. Riko was feeling nervous, stressing about everything she could think about. Her smile probably seemed forced or weird looking. She slowly reached out her trembling hand to pick a flower. “I’m s-sorry…”
"Sorry, thought the city folk thing was a bigger concern kiddo." Joshua would apologize, noting how irritated Mya got from possibly being ignored. "Did you two rest well?" He asked, starting to finish his plate while waiting for an answer from the two. His cheeks occasionally strained from the gusto he ate with.
