His hammer landed right on the mark, sending the behemoth reeling backward. A grin crossed his face, though it couldn't be seen behind his ebony visor; this was what it felt like to let loose again. He'd almost forgotten how it felt to put his life on the line. It had been about a year since his last trip, after all.
His train of thought was quickly interrupted when Krys, with near-perfect timing, took the opening that he had created. She spun gracefully past the creature, blades whirling, leaving bright red gashes in the monster's yellow-green hide. Then, when Eryk was about to prepare for a second blow, he saw the horn swing out three times, all of them precisely hitting the head. The tune it bellowed filled his heart with courage and made his hammer feel ever-so-slightly lighter. Maybe these people did know what they were doing. Was it wrong of him to have doubted them? He shook his head again before he shifted his focus back on the Ludroth that was now preparing an attack. He tensed his muscles, waiting for the inevitable retaliation that was going to be coming his way - he had the perfect thing for it.
The monster paused for a moment, gathering its breath before it let out an ear-shattering roar. The sound alone was enough to rupture one's eardrums, and Eryk was right in front of its mouth. He covered his ears, the pressure being almost unbearable before it stopped. It rolled onto one of its shoulders, and Eryk instantly became aware of what it was trying to do. "Hey, watch out!" He shouted, tucking into a tight roll as the tail whizzed by above his head, his slate armor clanging from the sudden impact on the wood of the ship. Quickly, he regained his footing, swinging the hammer back up and into position before the creature focused its attention back on him. A chuckle rang out from the armored man before he shouted, "Come at me, you overgrown sea lizard!"
It prepared something; its frill shook in an angry display of some sort before it discharged something at him. A glob of water? Perfect. Eryk swung the hammer over his shoulder and guided the head of it into the watery mass as he performed the aptly named 'Water Strike'. The liquid separated before him, leaving him a clear opening for a counterattack. The momentum of the spit had knocked his hammer back slightly, so he took the opportunity and shifted on his heel, putting his entire body into a devastating upward golf swing aimed at the lower jaw again.
