The historic city of Las Vegas holds a history that not many other cities can rival. It has long been hailed as the king of entertainment and much more. Time has been kind to the famous city. Instead of allowing its buildings to decay, Vegas has found itself renovated and looking as shiny as ever. From big named stars performing, to mega-casinos filled with patrons from all around the world, Las Vegas has stood up to the test of time.
A burst of technological advance hit the Earth like a train in the past few years. As a result, many cities across the world have found themselves accomodating to change or staying in the past. Vegas has always carried this retro-feel with many of its current buildings representing the wild 60’s and 70’s. So, did Vegas stay in the past or embrace the ever-changing world?
Well, the answer isn’t as simple as it seems…
Las Vegas headed in the path of Retro-futurism. The city itself would become a grand spectacle for all to see as it became a glimpse into both the past and future. Vegas’ new makeover had gained positive reviews with some even calling it “The City of Chrome.” This brand new Las Vegas had been described as portal to an alternate future in which 50’s culture evolved alongside this brand new tech.
It’s also important to note that this little renovation had not only affected the city’s looks. A walk through the vibrant strip, the most famous attraction in all of Vegas, can be highlighted by the bright lights and hits from famous singers such as Frank Sinatra whistling about via radios found throughout the city. Las Vegas had truly become an must-see attraction for people all around the world.

Perhaps, some things are just too good to be true. While Vegas itself had become something amazing, someone had to fund all of this magic. Like the days of old, in which Vegas began to come to its own, the mob had a large hand in establishing Sin City as a go-to destination. It seems as if history has repeated itself. Various mafias have taken their fair share of claims in Vegas with most of the casinos being owned by various mob kingpins.
A mysteries
While the higher-ups have attempted to cover such news up as nothing, there have been several disappearances of a off and on nature. There haven’t been many leads as to the cause of such madness but there have been rumors of strange scuttling and chirping at night. Perhaps, someone could solve the mystery before things get too out of hand.
The mayor seemed to be almost perfectly set up to take the seat after the assassination on the previous mayor. The woman who ran the city is to many a fallen hero, many of the citizens site Notctua and Novak the reason things were not worse. She couldn't hold her job though given injuries leading to who's in the seat now. He seems a man of justice, that said he is also a big proponent of the Church of Metamorphosis.

Just outside of the main road going into Vegas, past the welcome sign and before churches where one can get married dressed like Elvis at 3AM is a renovated cathedral that looks now perhaps a bit ominous and contrariion to the neon lights. It stands though in defiance of all this with but one proposition. The gifting of power to those who want it.
See in the modern age metahumans are the center of attention they are not the norm but they have grown in number and with them comes the change of the world around them. People want to rewrite laws, they fear and or reveal them. Faith in deities fades as new ones are born, and this is where the Burrakurotasu comes in, a woman who has told the world where to go to have a power like the gods of the new age. It may look like a church but what it truly is, is a point of change. Where the poor can become brilliant, the broken become mighty, and all through the voice of a black rose.
The building itself seems a bit bleak outside, lights more coming from vibrant glass then any walls. The trees seem dead and skeletal, despite this a garden grows bountiful around the walls. The gardens mostly consisting though of roses lotuses and little else. Other then a somewhat Gothic look however the building seems no different then any other church, other then a surprisingly busy parking lot and a basement larger then average.

Elektra was confident in her aim, it was a focus of her job to be. She was about as sure as one could be she would be bruising but nothing to serious. This didn't accommodate for Ms Friendlyfire though, and so while maybe the archer had helped maybe not, she was struck with guilt. The result was worse on the hero, and it pulled at a memory. When the officer went across universes and used her compound bow more like a war bow, or to be more exact when she was a catapult meant to destroy a building. She never found out if that had casualties, which just left a level of dread. Elektra being responsible for the injury at least in her mind, and reminded of something that still bothered her didn't want to fight anymore.
She wanted to serve and protect, she couldn't focus on fighting. Didnt help that the arrow was broken, hard as the archer hit she was outclassed. Trick arrows could help bridge the gap but now the murderer was catching on to the best one she had. He also healed better then she did, after everything he was still going. Meanwhile Elektra had a hole in her chest which she couldn't just recover from. That was like going to be a whole day. Was also the as mentioned explosion, a bigger event and more work. "Ugh just go. And maybe learn subtlety." Maybe she was a terrible cop for it, but vigilantes weren't all bad if she met them she might be at odds do to work but she didn't believe cops could do it all. Maybe one day more metas would take up a badge but who knew if that was even enough.
"Sorry just wanted to get you clear, didn't consider space bitch adding to it." Who Elektra wasn't so sure she would work with. When the woman arrived on earth the archer had wanted to help settle in but now she was regretting even making the offer. "Hospital, JAMED, or veterinarian? Let me actually be of help before I deal with that...please." She made a gesture to the smoke barely rising above the roofs to be seen even this far out. She knew how that would go though, working police lines and helping hostages. Maybe she'd get involved but havingg a hole in her chest just shy of being looked through wasn't going to help the latest super criminal scene.
As for suggested help she figured it would usually be the first or last option. Actual doctors were preferable but some wanted their anonymity so went for ne x t best thing. The small nerd of SOS had a decent in-between though the archer was willing to throw in their. Mostly though it all just came down to a inflection in her voice, friendly fire wasn't her. And at the risk of "not being enlightend" she wanted to try and help the wounded over put more arrows in people.

Powers: Altered physiology: pointed ears and unique eyes and hair are one thing but more significantly she has wings and different weight proportions. A lighter build and bone density to better allow flight. She's quicker then average but a bit more vulnerable. Able to fly at a speed that can usually catch up to vehicles. Which is not to say she can fly as fast as one at top speed, more so can accelerate to her top speed quicker. Illusion Casting: much as she likes flying though she was made an Acolyte for her illusions. They have no weight to them but otherwise look move and sound and even feel identical to the real thing. A gun would look real, and feel real, one might even smell the metal. It couldn't be lifted up though as it has no actual mass. The main benefit of her illusions is just how real and deceptive they can be, making a entire room seem different. The main crux though is that it will never be real.
Equipment: Often times of course Duskwing will operate in civilian attire. Normally the job is better done in a shirt and jeans however of course sometimes there is a demand for more such as this mission to the arctic. In these cases the black and yellow suit is selected having light weight but reliable defensive ability. It should protect against most pistol munitions and maybe moderate rifle rounds. As well as provides blade reisistance, it maybe wouldn't shake off a machete attack but should depend against knives. The suit is finished off with reinforced gloves and boots. They may look bulky but these actually serve function for shock absorption. Meant to help her weather falls and landings making use of her flight.
It's possible she could aquire more given Acolyte clearance. For the mission though she's only asked for a surplus of knives a pistol and plenty of ammo. As she usually favors a lightweight loadout, it'd be counter intuitive to slow herself down with some heavy machine gun.

Boots extend to knee height as her pants are held up by a belt woven of bones. And a camisole top, all of this fabric is made of leather. Allowing it to be breathable and somewhat resistant to the elements and allowing for protection. More significant of course though is that all of this is covered in bones. Isabella can manipulate these bones to extend. This can lend to extending limbs, a exoskeleton styled armor, or knife like spikes and protrusions. It's easily concealed which helps as well in travels, but it does have limitations. Such as range, durability and the cost of making her useless with most conventional weapons.

There is also a series of books in relation to biology and history, with as well a journal consisting of notes from Isabella. There is the one oddity to the bag, that being a section of the bag separated just for bones she keeps on her. These bones being those of arms and a few animals.
Ghost: a black stallion covered in bone related armor. Naturally storing a number of traveling necessities on the back. There is however as well pouches kept on the horse housing more bones. This horse can also take a spectral form allowing it to pass through walls, run on water, and move far faster then it otherwise would be able.
Marrow Manipulation: A free to use on herself ability to manipulate bones, this can include weakening, strengthening, breaking, mending, extending and so on. In addition it helps her have a surprising amount of control over her body. This is at times difficult to use against others though. Latent energy in ones body often providing a resilience to her influencing the body of others who are more driven. The common person or even authorities are easy to puppet but not so much say hardened generals and soldiers or a hero.
Ghastly Bolster: Increasing muscle mass and as such physical ability by taking remains of the dead. The difficulty of this varies by body used. Really though the reservation just comes to how it brings her closer to losing control.
Life Drain: The capacity to withdraw life energies from organic matter for use of healing herself and others. This is why as well there is a groove on the knife to collect the blood spilt. This isn't to taxing on her magic but is on a target. Where she withdraws life it struggles to return or perhaps may never return. A tree wilted by her may forever be a dead scar upon the land.
Death Communion: This is a slight cost on her energy but allows her to talk to and understand the fallen. Different languages, animals it's all understandable to her. Granted when talking to the dead it likely sounds to most like ghastly gibberish.
Raise The Dead: The main ability of Isabell to raise and control the dead. Below twenty human summons or zombies is easy up to fifty is taxing mildly. Going anywhere up to hundred is exhausting, and anything above that is bordering on dangerous to herself. More she looks to bring forth the easier it is for corruption to seep into her body or even threatening her very life. Preparation can help remedy this but it's always with a risk, should she go to far the possessor may become the possessed. Summons of animals are easier, and believed she can do twice as much. The versatility there though isn't always as promising.
Necrotic Bolt: A mildly costly power to cast a skull looking projectile of deathly energies. A cold burning, and exhaustion causing attack. She can only cast this nine times a day however.
Puppeteering: The summon or summons determine the cost over the action itself. This also requires making Isabella's physical self is somewhere safe or protected. This spell however allows her to be in the body of those she's brought to life, able to see the world through the eyes of the undead raven, or perhaps as a zombified rat listening in as a spy, or even exhibit better control of the undead legions she may use.
Amalgamation: At times the numbers may not be enough, this is to costly to use more then five times a day but it allows the necromancer to fuse the bodies taken to form a singular entity. It may be akin to a cerberus or centaur, form wings or multiple arms. The necrotic combination in form may very but the result remains the same a high mana cost for a powerful summon.
Spectral Body: By plunging her dagger into herself Isabell can bring herself to the precipice of death. To become a ghost a being of possession and intangibility. However should something happen to the knife, the blood collected into the groove or the time spent away from the body expand over an hour the death would be permanent.
Resistances: Put simply being closer to the point of death has allowed some resilience to things like poison or narcotics. She's to interlinked with death and pain to easily be swayed by injuries shy of the most severe. Carnivorous, meat raw or rotten even diseased the bodies of the dead don't make her ill. While gross she can survive on eating fresh road kill if need be.
Survival: Hunting, scavenging, knowing how to barter as a Nomad Isabel had to learn to get by on her own and in the wild. Martial Arts: The use of necromancy is corrupt, fowl, primal she had to know how to fight with her body over tools. While she knows weapons it was vital she come to know how to rip and tear apart the body through magic and her own hands. Tactician: This was more by her own doing. Constant studies to learn how to manage numbers and troop formations. She expects one day she may need a army of the dead to help fight the forces against the world. The power to summon so many though is nothing if they're just sacks of meat devoid of any actual ability. Knife Weilding: She is no master with any melee weapon but its proximity to claws feels relatable to the necromancer. Swordsmanship: While again no master she is familiar with the art, and more significantly the use of skeletal arms can bolster ones obvious potential. Language/Arcane Studies: Studying the dead can lead to learning the language of the dead, of meeting people from all walks of life. This has lead to better understanding of languages and writing from the common, to the magical, to even the lost and so much in between.
History:
Isabella in short has seen many things lost to heroism and villains. Death became a focus as she wanted to get close to those gone and lost in her life. Because of this she grew more and more interested in learning dark arts the study of necromancy forming a intrinsic hold over the woman. This lead the Sorceress to try and grow her abilities with a single goal in mind. To help others grow through death and to help people not lose so much through death. Her mind is tainted, she would turn a entire school to zombies to better parents. She would turn a child's hero to a undead terror to try and get them to abandon faith in heroes.
It all boils down to the idea that death made her stronger, but is also why she suffered. This can perhaps be seen as contrarian but much of her rationality and willing to compromise is gone. Her nature drew in more vengeful spirits then helpful ones, and this pushed her further and further down a path. A desire for violence and a body count making her see death as largely the only rational answer to most things. The ghosts she has so turned to want her to delve deeper into the unseen. As it is believed with enough of her succumbing to murderous tendency and black magic, or dying while performing it could spark a further change. Should she fall far enough the collector of skulls may become a embodiment of death itself.

This horse can also take a spectral form allowing it to pass through walls, run on water, and move far faster then it otherwise would be able.
Marrow Manipulation: A free to use on herself ability to manipulate bones, this can include weakening, strengthening, breaking, mending, extending and so on. In addition it helps her have a surprising amount of control over her body. This is at times difficult to use against others though. Latent energy in ones body often providing a resilience to her influencing the body of others who are more driven. The common person or even authorities are easy to puppet but not so much say hardened generals and soldiers or a hero.
Ghastly Bolster: Increasing muscle mass and as such physical ability by taking remains of the dead. The difficulty of this varies by body used. Really though the reservation just comes to how it brings her closer to losing control.

This isn't to taxing on her magic but is on a target. Where she withdraws life it struggles to return or perhaps may never return. A tree wilted by her may forever be a dead scar upon the land.

Going anywhere up to hundred is exhausting, and anything above that is bordering on dangerous to herself. More she looks to bring forth the easier it is for corruption to seep into her body or even threatening her very life. Preparation can help remedy this but it's always with a risk, should she go to far the possessor may become the possessed. Summons of animals are easier, and believed she can do twice as much. The versatility there though isn't always as promising.

The ghost is faster being untethered to the physical domain, they can telekinetically move things or possess people, and their cold touch with some strain might even tighten around ones neck. However she can only command half as many ghosts as she can the undead.

Puppeteering: The summon or summons determine the cost over the action itself. This also requires making Isabella's physical self is somewhere safe or protected. This spell however allows her to be in the body of those she's brought to life, able to see the world through the eyes of the undead raven, or perhaps as a zombified rat listening in as a spy, or even exhibit better control of the undead legions she may use.
Amalgamation: At times the numbers may not be enough, this is to costly to use more then five times a day but it allows the necromancer to fuse the bodies taken to form a singular entity. It may be akin to a cerberus or centaur, form wings or multiple arms. The necrotic combination in form may very but the result remains the same a high mana cost for a powerful summon.
Spectral Body: By plunging her dagger into herself Isabell can bring herself to the precipice of death. To become a ghost a being of possession and intangibility. However should something happen to the knife, the blood collected into the groove or the time spent away from the body expand over an hour the death would be permanent.
Resistances: Put simply being closer to the point of death has allowed some resilience to things like poison or narcotics. She's to interlinked with death and pain to easily be swayed by injuries shy of the most severe. Carnivorous, meat raw or rotten even diseased the bodies of the dead don't make her ill. While gross she can survive on eating fresh road kill if need be.
Survival: Hunting, scavenging, knowing how to barter as a Nomad Isabel had to learn to get by on her own and in the wild. Martial Arts: The use of necromancy is corrupt, fowl, primal she had to know how to fight with her body over tools. While she knows weapons it was vital she come to know how to rip and tear apart the body through magic and her own hands. Tactician: This was more by her own doing. Constant studies to learn how to manage numbers and troop formations. She expects one day she may need a army of the dead to help fight the forces against the world. The power to summon so many though is nothing if they're just sacks of meat devoid of any actual ability. Knife Weilding: She is no master with any melee weapon but its proximity to claws feels relatable to the necromancer. Swordsmanship: While again no master she is familiar with the art, and more significantly the use of skeletal arms can bolster ones obvious potential. Language/Arcane Studies: Studying the dead can lead to learning the language of the dead, of meeting people from all walks of life. This has lead to better understanding of languages and writing from the common, to the magical, to even the lost and so much in between.
History:
Isabella in short has seen many things lost to heroism and villains. Death became a focus as she wanted to get close to those gone and lost in her life. Because of this she grew more and more interested in learning dark arts the study of necromancy forming a intrinsic hold over the woman. This lead the Sorceress to try and grow her abilities with a single goal in mind. To help others grow through death and to help people not lose so much through death. Her mind is tainted, she would turn a entire school to zombies to better parents. She would turn a child's hero to a undead terror to try and get them to abandon faith in heroes.
It all boils down to the idea that death made her stronger, but is also why she suffered. This can perhaps be seen as contrarian but much of her rationality and willing to compromise is gone. Her nature drew in more vengeful spirits then helpful ones, and this pushed her further and further down a path. A desire for violence and a body count making her see death as largely the only rational answer to most things. The ghosts she has so turned to want her to delve deeper into the unseen. As it is believed with enough of her succumbing to murderous tendency and black magic, or dying while performing it could spark a further change. Should she fall far enough the collector of skulls may become a embodiment of death itself.

Ocular Variations: "So I got two abilities which branch out some. The first is vision based, they can perceive the world instantly. In addition they don't seem to be influenced by lighting or lack of, or by things like hallucinogens. Look I don't promote drugs but I've met some less then savory habits having people before. X ray vision which I refuse to use that way don't be gross, and lastly for LAZORS! Uh I mean laser vision, beams of variable size and heat. I don't know the upper temperatures but I know it can get to about the size of a house before it hurts me."
Blinding Speeds: "Granted that is kind of under selling it. I don't know if there is a upper limit but I do know it goes up to light speed. My body doesn't seem to generate the destructive energy in moving at these speeds or harm me. That said it doesn't extend externally. I can outrun a bullet but if it hits it's still gona do what bullets do. No you can't see the scar. Lastly is stamina for days, or it would be. I can I think run at light speeds for a full two hours before I tap out which at slower speeds is almost a non issue. After fighting Reaper have been able to push myself to double those speeds, as while adrenaline making me want to try and outrun death got me to one point five times light speeds."
Equipment: "Given that the weapon will be super hot and won't be ruined by my speed I'll admit the edge and metal isn't the best. I'm not rich and these aren't special. However I have a odachi and katana that I'm fond of using. It's not to often they meet resistance this is do to me though more then their design."
Abilities: "I know French and English. I'm pretty athletic I'd say and well trained in sword fighting. Mostly though I think what's impressive is my ability to run in heels or be so fast that if I did trip in such you wouldn't know. I'm not big on heels, one has to stick to a look though you know?"
History: Cerelia grew up in Paris her eyes making some activities feel redundant or frustrating to deal with. So she focused on swordsmanship and schooling.

The head bangers made into horrors of hell unlike the non metal heads.

Spectral Body: By resting her hand over her heart or forehead Morgan can bring herself into a Astral form. To become a ghost a being of possession and intangibility. However should she chose to Astral project leaving her body somewhere she can be at risk. Not trying to bring her body let's her move faster and possess someone easier, it's not without risk though.
Birbs: They tend to flock to her and do her bidding. They might take a shot for her, peck at someone...that's about it good company but hardly a fierce power.
Telkenesis: She can't lift more then a car, the barriers can only handle so much. It's also always visible do to the appearance of shadows around what she holds or forms with her power. It's not exactly the most potent but it's useful.
Jewel of Osiris: A gift and a curse, she was born with it in her head. It seems to help her recover and fend off sickness really well. She's not sure she can stay down so long as it's in her head. But also it's a glowing rock in her head that's not subtle and she's fairly sure if something happened to it she'd be done for.
History: Morgan liked karate, track, and horror movies as a kid. She wasn't a good runner, or a good fighter she'd like to say that's improved some but might be debatable. She was however always impossible to scare or gross out. Not that she lacked empathy for what she watched it just didn't phase her like her friends. And when it was clear no movie would shake her she was dared to stay the night at a graveyard.
Morgan didn't panic though but instead as friends came to get her Megan told them of all the people she met. Her powers had started to come into their own. They were hardly the mightiest gifts in the world but she found she enjoyed them. She spent the next couple years in constant trouble. She wanted to play detective and was even good at it. Teens walking around crime making zombie noises didn't exactly look good though or have the best reception. Spit between helpful and creepy the teen had mixed reception in town.
Eventually though she learned of secrets from the wrong people. When she tried to confess the Mayor was a killer though he came to the home of Naicitrom. Unable to mask his deeds anymore he wanted to take the world from Morgan before he went to jail. And not to familiar with her powers in a offensive means at the time he succeeded. In self defense she plunged a knife into him but it was to late to remedy losses suffered. A farewell said to family and while authorities were willing to help her from a life behind bars she didn't feel welcome back there. So now she wanders a orphan vagabond.
She's tried to improve with her powers but to what ends remains to be seen.
