The sun was rising over the kingdom, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. But the beauty of the dawn was lost on the people of the land, who were waking up to the harsh reality of their defeat in the long and grueling war. The streets were silent, except for the distant sound of cheering from the enemies that still littered the street's after their night of festing and drinking to celebrate there conquest of this once glorious kingdom.
Inside the cold half beaten down castle stood the few royal guards and main soldiers that managed to survive the boodly battle that beat them down like nothing more then rodents.
The King and the Queen stood there in the once great war room having a heavy argument with the concubine Queen about who's daughter should be used. Thought Seraphines mother held the Kings heart he was a beaten dog licking his wounds either child he gave away would lay heavy on his heart but he knew that Seraphine was the one that must go, although promised to another he knew she would never make it in another land nor did he have faith she would make a good Queen for the other Kingdom. He stood and spoke loudly through his shortened breath "Seraphine will be the one given to the enemies and to repay our debut to the Elorian Kingdom my first born shall take Seraphines place". Seraphines mother collapsed to her knees sobbing heavily at the loss of her daughter while the Queen gave a cold smirk whispering under her breath that, that is what a beastly child who came from evil spawn deserves.
Seraphine wore a dress that was light but still carried the weight of a royal her small crown holding red beading, it dazzled in the morning light, she had her black hair slicked straight and a maid who applied soft makeup to her delicate yet fierce features. The blood red color of her dress and jewels was stunning against her pale features and coal colored hair but was also her showing her defiance in a way as well as making a statement of "though I may be filled with many wounds you will not see me bleed"!
Seraphine was delivered the news of the decision by her closet hand maid as her mother could not bare to speak such words to her best jewel. Seraphine was angry at first wanting to raise her sword and run out to encourage her men to fight longer harder, but she knew that they had nothing left to give and it would only make her people suffer in the end.
As she made her way through the castle, she could see the devastation that the war had wrought. The once-glorious halls were now littered with rubble and debris, and the air was thick with the stench of death. But the princess did not falter. She kept her wits about her as she joined her family at the gates entrance to there home waiting for the one who called themselves Chief to come collect their prize's.
