The heroes needed to have a meeting. It was something they had all agreed on, at one time or another. There were a lot of heroes in the city, and they were very disorganized. Laine did not like it when things were disorganized. That was why they needed to have a meeting.
The library was a good place for meetings. It was open until 7, which meant that the heroes could come to the meeting after work. Laine had work during the day also. She had graduated from high school, and after high school students were supposed to go to college or get a job. Laine did not have money for college, so that meant she had to get a job. Hers was entering things into a computer. Laine was very good at entering things into a computer. She was very accurate.
That was for other times, though, when she was not being a superhero. Right now, she had to think about superhero things, because the superheroes were not very organized or accurate. Laine was not sure how to fix this problem, but hopefully someone else would have an idea when they arrived.
It was not a meeting that someone had scheduled. That would have been convenient, but also challenging, because Laine did not have a phone. She was not hard to find, if someone needed to find her, but that did not work for phone calls. Still, they needed to have a meeting, so she had gone to the library and sat down in one of the meeting rooms and decided that the superheroes all belonged at the meeting. She thought they would come.
They were superheroes, after all.
In the meantime, she did not mind being at the library. She was reading a book about mushrooms. Laine liked books as long as they were factual, and mushrooms as long as no one was asking her to eat them. Fortunately, that was not likely to be an issue during this meeting.
She turned another page and waited patiently. Of course they would be here.
