Erwin had a well laid out plan. Lure the Crab into the one area free of a monster and consequently a hero to stop it, have it go on a fucking rampage and cash in on the pain and suffering it caused. But you know what they say, no such thing as a perfect plan. He did not account for the involvement of Psi. He had figured the big horned girl and he would have a team up against the Crow. Apparently that was not the case. A slight miscalculation on his part.
Right as he turned to shoot at the crab one last time, he found himself staring at the open palm of someone, not clear who it was at first, not that he had any time to react either. The palm had a lot of momentum behind it as it grabbed his helmet and pushed him back, tilting him right off his feet and planting the back of his head into the ground. The force of it shattered his visor and his head rocked vigorously in there.
Fortunately, there was padding inside of it, and the helmet’s armor plating absorbed most of the shock. The rest was mitigated by the fact that he was already somewhat doped on the crab’s earlier rampage at the center of the park. But boy was Erwin in for a huge boost of strength.
Because Psi had come for Erwin and not the crab, giving it the chance to reach the gathering civilians right by the police barricades. And it absolutely mauled them, sending cars and people flying sideways, some getting squished between concrete and steel, others becoming direct casualties. Those that survived, those with minor and major injuries all became a source of power for Erwin. All of it flowed through his veins, pumping his already enhanced bones, muscle and skin.
He already had started seeing the world in slow motion before, but now, the world seemingly was at a standstill for him.
For a while, Psi wouldn’t register any sign of resistance with Erwin laying absolutely still. He was absorbing every ounce of pain he could before he moved. “What…are you doing?” Erwin rolls aside and tries to get up. “Do you realize what you just did?” His gaze was on the crab. Now yes with the amount of power he had, he could probably incapacitate this guy but Erwin for starters did not like to go against anyone he had no knowledge of, and definitely not in a public setting like this.
“I’m willing to let this slide as a mistake on your part.” His target was the obvious menace in this scene, the crab. “So help me immobilize it so it can no longer move.” How was he going to go about it? How were they going to tackle it? “Cuz I will be honest, I have NO IDEA how I’m going to do it.” Oh he had plenty of ideas but it was way more fun to give the crab some more time to feed him that juicy pain.
