A gentle tune echoed through the forest outside of the city walls as Cicatrix wandered about. A rise and fall of tempo associated more with the back and forth drawing of a violin than the small mouth of an Archdemon, but Cicatrix made due with what she had. "Hiya! Uhg, damnit!" The song had been stuck in her head ever since she left the sewers after dream-walking and, ever since, she had been absentmindedly humming it while trying to figure out why she knew the tune. "Stop moving so I can kill you!" Oh, yeah, and there was this forest peasant that decided to attack Cicatrix on sight. That was weird. But he was old -old for a mortal- so Cicatrix found it easier to dodge his wild strikes while humming.
Humming
Humming
Hum-
Thunk! "Ha! I- got you? HURK!" 'The humming! The song! Of course!' Cicatrix thought, smacking herself with her free hand while she held the old man aloft by his neck. Tossing the human aside, Cicatrix wove hand signals and whispered, "Dispel Magic." Smiling, she turned towards the human she had thrown aside. "Now! Does it still wish me dead?" The human sat against the tree, silent and unblinking. Striding over towards him, she looked his body up and down before sighing deeply. "Stupid, humans are fragile. So fragile." Snapping her fingers, she cast Raise Dead and watched the corpse fill with life once more.
The old mortal started hyperventilating, rambling, and frantically looking around. Cicatrix, standing over him, leaned her head down and gently hummed the song once more. The man seemed extremely confused by this, but he did not leap from the ground to attack the demon. Smiling at her success, Cicatrix kicked the mortal in the head, instantly killing him once more. Turning, she began striding back towards the city of Praach, specifically the shantytown of the Mires. Pulling out a small booklet, she began reading once more about the city of 'The King's Port.' This place was fascinating to Cicatrix, and vaguely familiar as well.
Shrugging, she started a different tune of her own now that her mind felt a little freer. In Cicatrix's mind, she believed she looked like any other normal mortal walking in the dead of night alone in the forest. As long as you overlooked her horns, the moth wings, and the chopping axe embedded in her shoulder.
