“Pulling on Strings of the gods? I ain’t pulling on anything - they’re just here with me now.”
That was the truth, really - Psi wasn’t pulling on the strings. Really, the string were pullin on him now. Eventually they’d vanish and he’d not see them anymore, but so close to an activation? They were sticking around for him, at least for a while. They floated in the air, embedded in his clothes and wrapped around his arms - and they followed as he hopped up next to the Empress… Listening as he stood next to her, pacing a bit.
“Like I said - I wasn’t here for you or Aster. They played their hand, desperately trying to capture Aster. Looking at it, you would have handled them but I wanted to make sure. Can’t let them make another weapon from a person.”
He admitted, nodding as the Empress talked. Then he watched the people inside. A group of misfits really. An android, army man and a… Something. Creature. He would shrug as he watched, not really phased by the show of power from the Emperor. As the dome closed back up, Psi would look at the Aster he was talking to - before raising a finger at the suggestion of destroying everything.
“...What’ll be the point?”
He asked, looking at the string and just grabbing a hold of it to look closer at it. He would pace for a moment, before pulling the string from his jacket - watching it get longer and longer as he looks at it.
“It would be pointless to destroy everything here. Because you’ll just loop back and do this all again. But - however, this is a place you can break the cycle. This place, its potential is untethered. Aster can decide who she wants to be here.”
The Psker would sit next to the Empress as he explained, stretching the red strings to be in front of them both - to demonstrate his point. All the strings were long, a single string could split a hundred different ways. He would then make them weave back into his jacket - nodding.
“I can show you yours, but I think you should get my point now. Keep destroying, keep losing - keep repeating. You gain nothing from it. Aster, and you two should be able to gain something here. And as long as you don’t do the extreme option, I’d be willing to help.”
He said, hopping back onto his feet and dusting off his coat.
“You won’t remember this, but I will. Tell me something you and Aster would know, that maybe people wouldn’t know. It’ll be a callsign that we met - then I’ll go help Aster. Agreed?”
