Noon's Thirst Festival
Wings beat high above the cloud cover, lapping over one another in an ominous cacophony. There were numbers in the sky. A winding war-horn blared, it's sound wash'd over the city and suddenly the clouds were pierced by pronged horns of a cavalry donning dark teal and gold. Like an eyrie of falcons, they dove down in a blur of dart-like speed into the heart of the bustling Sein metropolis. An invasion from the sullen city of Buyan?
No, these were the mighty Winged Hussars sitting atop their peryton herd. They arced upwards only a dozen feet above the Path of Many Gods, sweeping the crowds over with wild winds. Bystanders roared and cheered in awe. Majestic and powerful, the best of the best. Below them the Standing Hussars rode on these massively muscled goats known as war-billies through the cobblestone thoroughfare segregated into perfect files more than dozen long.
The Noon's Thirst parade then continued with circuses, though there were many other delights to be found across the city of Praach. Each quarter had something different and exciting to offer from the Oldtown Theatre to the Coldharbour Dance. A thousand different tastes of life were available for a thousand different folks. This was a day of indulgence for each and every stratum of Praach's society. A holiday celebrating the city's rise and greatness, though it's Grand Duke was not due an appearance.
So as noon draws near, a question still lingers: How will you quench your thirsts on this fine, sunny day?
