The world grew louder after the fateful slash.
Even the devil’s breathing grew softer. Senses heightened with focus; scanning the area for some kind of disturbance. In the moment, she could feel everything from the subtle twitching of Lark’s eyes in their sockets to an ant crawling on the ground 30 meters away. Violet eyes tracing the area for… something. Anything concerning.
Nothing.
Not until the time traveler started to make her way over. There was no attempt to resist Lark as they moved forward in time. Kore had given them her trust and, in turn, she would offer a second perspective on the entire situation. Something that, well… they really seemed to need. Even if just to confirm what they already knew. Because, in contrast to Lark’s confusion and worry…
…Kore only felt relief. And not mild relief. Gargantuan relief.
“The timeline didn’t just implode and kill us all” levels of relief. The juxtaposition of her own tranquil expression was almost worrying in and of itself. And, so, the devil simply spoke her less-than-upset mind in response to the universe’s rather… relaxed response to their meddling.
A tangible amount of confusion in Kore’s voice; not in response to the events that had unfolded, but to Lark’s own response to them.

"Is that… not a good sign for us?”
A tangible amount of confusion in Kore’s voice; not in response to the events that had unfolded, but to Lark’s own response to them.
"Please correct me, in great detail, if I’m missing something here. But… isn’t the universe not having a fit over us going into the past and cutting down a tree a good sign that 'Fate' isn’t as strict as we were worried it would be? Like… I’m curious...” she relaxed- visibly so- and dispelled the blade that she had been carrying; more than a little grateful that nothing clamored out of ruptured timespace and gave her a reason to use it, "This feeling of dread that you get when you consider breaking sequence? Where did it start? When did it start? Something had to have happened to engrain it so deeply into your mind. And that something might tell us a lot about what’s going on.”
